I've got pretty much the same ones as Josh.

Second what he has to say on Ecutalk too......

Only thing im over is when I plug in and clear codes it always throws an auto trans code.... Funny that as its manual these days!

i think our o2 actually fiddle with timing itself. everytime Cihan tried tuning mine previously with the o2 plugged in, the tune would just go out of whack on the next run.

i unplugged it, and it was fine from there on - that being said my o2 was f**ked. but i dont think its necessary if your tuning.

You can tune light load around stoichiometric or a whisker leaner and run without the factory O2 sensor without issue. Although there is a case for leaving some light/medium sections of the map a little richer so that you get a little more response in open loop but will be leaned back by the O2 sensor if you have constant throttle in that section of the map.

Tune going out of whack is a little odd. If he has written the values and they have been saved correctly then there should be no issues. If the O2 sensor is playing up then the ecu will be having issues jumping between closed and open loop. If the O2 sensor is throwing strange voltages then the closed loop mapping will be all over the place. Something that should be pretty easy to diagnose.

there is no vehicle specific software, consult is just the protocol that all nissans between about 1989 - 2002 use. and there is plenty of free software floating around. i've got a few, ECUTalk, Conzult Free, TECU, Nissan Scantech (i think this ones free). If you want to shell out some money you could use Nissan Datascan. even the Nistune software will perform consult operations.

If your looking for a good solid little program to check error codes, look at gauge readouts and some data logging than look at ECUTalk. its a great little program, i used to use it all the time before i got my nistune software licence. As far as i know there aren't any free consult programs that can run active tests, i think the free conzult can but its limited.

I prefer Datascan over ECUTalk. I have NIStune on the carpc as well but it's too full on for day-to-day monitoring/diagnostics. Not sure about windows7 though.. carpc is still running XP

I decided to throw my car on the Dyno today, just to see everything is running safe.

Put out 215KW and was told that I should add 15KW on top of that due to the Dyno running low...

Looking forward to tuning it now...

Great stuff Chris

What are your current mods?

Cheers.

I have bigger injectors / Emanage / EBC / suction pipe still to go in. Then the gearbox will probably need a little love... :ermm:

Nice! been on that Dyno....

I got nowhere near that!:ermm:

Interesting, particularly given you havent got a suction pipe but its often been said 200 was the upper limit with the stock one; irrespective - great result! The gear box seems to not like a whole heap much more power than what youre already putting down though >_<

On a side note, but not completely unrelated, my group buy injectors & fuel pump showed up today (Madaz dropped them off) :worship:

Nice Duncan, same squirters as im running.

Did they give you the dead time report with it? I have mine here if you need the lag time, I assume 1ms at 45psi @ 14v (should be close). You will need two of those pumps to flow anywhere near enough though. lol.

Chris, where's the graph mate? Post it up.

Dead time report? :whistling:Not that Im aware of, Im sure the guys at Willall will be able to work it out when the time comes, but any additional info that will make everything go smoothly is always appreciated  I dont plan on trying to max out these injectors any time soon - at least thered be no point with the GB, so the walbro should suffice.. for now.. :)

Finally got up to see my mate and get the NIStune board installed in my ECU, took all of about 20 mins

Made a few minor changes to make living with the Haltech a bit easier until I find time to remove it and repair the butchered loom :/

Set up the Z32 afm, have been running it since the stocker died but because the Haltech runs a map sensor it wasn't too much of an issue.. I thought.. turns out it was screwing with the TP so VCT was needing a lot more load to flick on, feels SO much better punting around the streets with it working properly! Also set the VCT enable temp to 50deg (as stock ECU is reading the temp ~20-25deg low) until I pull the Haltech out, then I'll chuck a stock water temp sender back in.

I can't believe what was supposed to be a respected workshop set it all up like this :domokun:

got my new digital HD tv tuner in today.

works awesome! had a few problems with placement. but ill hide it somewhere lol

big thanks to commsman (leon) for supplying it with instructions!

Managed to get my seats, coilovers, headunit and wheels on yesterday. Still sorting out height and fitment though.

Wow, 230awkw on stock injectors/ecu/intake pipe?

Interesting...:whistling:

    • But I think you missed mine.. there is also nothing about the 98 spec that supports your claim..  according to the fuel standards, it can be identical to 95, just very slightly higher octane number. But the ulp vs pulp fuel regulations go show 95 (or 98), is not just 91 with some additives. any claim of ‘refined by the better refineries’ or ‘higher quality fuel’ is just hearsay.  I have never seen anything to back up such claims other than ‘my mate used to work for a fuel station’, or ‘drove a fuel delivery truck’, or ‘my mechanic says’.. the actual energy densities do slightly vary between the 3 grades of fuel, but the difference is very minor. That said, I am very happy to be proven wrong if anyone has some hard evidence..
    • Hey guys I’m chasing a Rb20det complete or bare block need a good running engine as mine has low comp
    • You're making my point for me. 95 is not "premium". It is a "slightly higher octane" version of the basic 91 product. The premium product that they want people to buy (for all the venal corporate reasons of making more profit, and all the possibly specious reasons of it being a "better" fuel with nicer additive packages) is the 98 octane stuff. 95 is the classic middle child. No-one wants it. No-one cares about it. It is just there, occupying a space in the product hierarchy.
    • 98 and 95 have to meet the same national fuel standards beside the actual RON.  91 has lower standards (which are quite poor really), so 95 is certainly not 91 with some octane booster. It would be an easier argument to claim 98 is just 95 with some octane boosters. Also RON doesn't specify 'quality' in any sense, only the octane number.  Anything different retailers decide or not decide to add to their 95 or 98 is arbitrary and not defined by the RON figure.
