mine were maxing before it cut.

so my informeter told me anyway.

so i was forced to baby the car around lol

emanage can clamp the aiflow at 4.6 as mine is.. anything after that is mapped by a boost sensor plugged into the emanage.

Yeah the Informeter suggests I max my injectors out without the suction.; hardly have to baby it - its first/second gear at 5k where I get into the upper region.

But yeah - mapping the extra airflow via boost sensor sounds fine to me. Its just clamping it at 4.6 WITHOUT the emanage that sounds like danger to me

So the suction pipe doesn't max the injectors just the AFM? If that's the case wouldn't a fuel cut defender fix that by clamping at say 4.6V? If the injectors are maxed then obviously needs bigger injectors.

If you're gonna cut fuel what's the point of flowing more air?

Am I missing something here?

I've got the MAP sensor installed but doesn't seem there's a need to use it...>_<

yeh it probably is a bigger danger doing it without bigger injectors.. which cant be done without an EMU

lol fuel cutdefender in this case would be used to clamp the voltage of AFM to 4.6v.. allowing it to rev freely without an air flow cut.

it adds fuel to the map if you have more boost.

ie. cold whether more boost - the map sensor will add fuel to keep it safe. get cihan to set it up

Ironpaw had a tune done before the map sensor was installed, so after 4.6 volts, cihan guessed the mapping, which he is really good at.

when he goes for the next tune, cihan will integrate it with the emanage

Whats wrong with your 3 dials? My boost gauge isn't working, but I found a thread on Scotty's soldering fix, so I'll do that, get it working, then think about changing it :D

mines an RX, only RS had the dials and the relevant sensors/loom etc. so if i cant get it working, ill be selling all the working bits and going a double DIN

the voltage readout works lol and i think if i change the BCM ill get the attesa working too. the boost sensor is missing the plug in the enging bay loom. but i rekon the wiring is there

i think there were tests done and raising the back of the bonnet doesnt really work. bonnet vents are the only real way to get air out :(

did you run a line from the battery directly to the pump? then its 14.4v already :P

Would creating a vent at back of the bonnet by timing the plastic trim on the back of the bonnet?

Cheers

Andy

Depends what else you do while raising it....trimmed some plastic out so it can flow/get dragged out.

I used a 12v relay...so it's 12v at the moment....If I need to step it up I will use the other one I got from Scott.

Did you want a factory boost sensor Iain or did you get one from the wreck?

Well that sounds like verdict is rip it off until I have done injectors, emanage and fuel pump? DAMMIT! And I was so looking forward to dyno day!

Wouldn't have thought a standard car with plenum spacer, exhaust and suction pipe would have maxed out the injectors?

I would leave it on until and see what the tuner can get out of it.....remember he will lean it off....you may get away with it running at about 92% duty cycle on standard boost!

I just spoke to Andrew, he was recommending a tune just with the exhaust. Sounds like I can do it without doing injectors etc, but excuse my ignorance can I get it tuned without going Emanage? I've only ever had one car tuned, and that was the R31 after I did the engine rebuild. Not exactly sophisticated so it was just done at Ultra Tune.

Unfortunately not on the stock ECU. Unless you send it to Japan.. :whistling:

Exhaust, Sierra S1 and stock boost you should get away with no injections with the E-Manage tune....or Exhaust, Suction Pipe, standard turbo and stock boost!....maybe!...anything more and you are pushing the envelope like I did!...not fun!

You will be in the 90% duty cycle mark more than likely.....so make sure your injectors are alway's clean!

Yep. No tune for u unless u get an emu installed...or a fcon...

Lol at ultratune 'tuning' cars!!

Yeah agree, but it was just timing, nothing complex! Thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Off to buy an Emanage then... any suggestions where?

    • AFM looks to be a z32 The injectors maybe old Nismo 555cc The turbo tag when looked up seems to be a gt2871 , imagine it would have the bigger rear housing .82 all look like the mid 00's mods when he started building it up. Vac hose seems right but would need to see a diagram. Great work going up there and sorting it out, be a good club car for someone wanting a good reliable rig.  I know I would like to have it but no space and too many other race cars at the moment.
    • Heys guys I got a r32 gtst speedo is out by 10kph seems the faster I go the more it be out  just seeing if anyone else had to problem and knows how to fix it
    • I can't agree. If we hadn't all been brought up with the noise caused by the inefficiency of an ICE, no-one would actually ask for all that. An EV is like any other car, it just goes better.
    • 2 more things I have to work out Easy one first...can anyone describe how to pull the fuel pump and sender from a 33? I can feel there is some sort of mount and clips but don't have a manual and don't know the trick......if not I'll spend some quality time in the boot witha lighter tomorrow. Second question is harder.  He had changed the upper plenum to a plazmaman but clearly got to a point with the vacuum hoses where he said "f**k it, I'm going inside for a beer" and never came back to that job because it was a mess. Am I right to think that I need: 1. Pre throttle (16mm nipple on inlet) to AAC's main 20mm fitting as the main pre throttle feed 2. ACC has a second 13m outlet joined to that 20mm fitting which I think is the pre throttle air supply for the cold start valve? 3. Cold start valve's outlet fitting then goes to Plenum (to bypass throttle?) There is some adapter on the back of the ACC with 2 fittings (13mm and 10mm), do I run the 10mm through a 1 way valve to the Brake Booster (4) and the 13mm back to a 13mm nipple on the Plenum as the Idle control (5)? 6. Run a 6mm vacuum line from the Turbosmart BOV to the Plenum? 7. Run a 5mm vacuum line from the Fuel Pressure Reg to the Plenum? 8. Run a 5mm vacuum line from the Turbosmart Boost controller to the Plenum? (Wastegate already has a pre turbo pressure source running to the solenoid then the wastegate on the other side of the bay)  Any help appreciated, the GTR is quite different setup and while the Stagea also has FFP it is different again. (And no Dose, I'm not pissing it all off and putting a ethrottle on it....)
    • OK, onto some questions to try and speed up the process a little. Does anyone know what core this Garret is? I know it is a high flowed standard turbo but nothing else about it. Tag says OK 0169J - 446179-5032 Same question for the injectors, I don't know what they flow and ideally can work it out before it hits the dyno, they are a mustard yellow side feed
