if you have someone in the know you will definitely be able to import a vehicle much easier.

The main issue is having someone ( as an agent) to look after the process on the other side. Apart from any stamp duty or import tax there should be no reason why you wouldn't be able to get this done yourself.

i have owned only skylines since i was young so maybe time for an sr?

although a nice 32 track weapon is always on the cards.

would there be any taxes or fees on our side if its not being used on aus roads?

doesn't matter what the car is going to be used for the import taxes etc are all the same. the only cost saving is you don't comply it and you don't register it. you still need to pay 10% GST and 5% import duty. along with the other normal AQIS/customs charges, freight charges etc.
