Hi! Wanting to get my auto transmission serviced.

I bought 8L of Castrol Transmax Z from Super Cheap Auto today from their 20% off sale

Newaiz, im not sure how much Litres I need for the service, Im providing oil to my mechanic to put in but they are closed today.

just wondering if its enough?

Anyone know how much Oil I will need flush or not?

And what should I change for my transmission service, so far i got this on the list:

  • Oil
  • Gasket
  • Filter

Also should I change my differentail oil as well? Can the mechanic at a transmission workshop do it? If yes, what oil should I use?

What price should I expect for this service minus the transmax Z oil I already bought

Any help will be appreciated

hey matey, just went through this recently the workshop i did my service at recommended me to do a new filter ($20) and gasket ($15) these were aftermarket items as i rang around different workshops and Nissan dealers who couldn't help me with it. I paid 80$ in labour and supplied my own oil, i went with Redline High-Temp ATF

You won't be able to flush all the old oil out as that pretty much requires removing the whole gearbox as there will always be liquid in the transfer case, like you i bought 10L of ATF and ended up using about 5L

pretty much that's all that's required, so long as you maintain it every 25,000 kms depending on how you drive you will have no dramas

As far as the diff is concerned you should service that every 10,000 kms, needs a specific diff oil, your mechanic should know more about it

hope that helps mate

Yo! thanks alot man, appreciate your help :)

Diff drain intervals are typically closer to 100,000km than 10,000kms.... If you use fully synthetic you can triple the factory drain interval.
