Cleaning Afm

Do you jus pull off the pod and spray contact cleaner through the mesh stuff at the afm?

undo it at both ends. unplug it and take it out.

clean it with contact cleaner. i usually spray a fare bit through it. i sometime even let it dry then give it another go. just be mindful that the pin inside is delicate. dont go sticking anything in there lol

let dry.

put back in.

what no one else takes it out so the dirty shit that runs off doesnt just run into the intake pipe.

i know im a bit anal but i just assumed people would take it out to do it lol.

yer take it out of the car, but theres no need to remove the mesh from the ends of the afm

Contact cleaner?

You can buy an actual air flow meter cleaner in an aerosol can.

lol i didnt mean take the mesh out jono lol. i meant take afm out of car like your saying.

contact cleaner does come in an aerosol can. it is a non conductive, fast evaporating spray on cleaner.

i imagine 'afm cleaner' would be exacltly the same thing.

yeah its the same stuff.... except it is 'specifically designed for airflow meters' and a few bucks more expensive

Bought it today and used it, works like magic lol not cheap though 25 bucks

Yea i grabbed AFM cleaner from repco, use it every couple thou km's, definitely notice a change in AFM voltage after putting them back in

Contact cleaner would also work
