boosting

my new front mount intercooler is curently being made, and i am wanting to up the boost when i get it fitted. im wanting to put it to 10psi, what is the easiest way of doing this? i dont want to go any more due to it being a stock turbo. engine is an rb25det in a hr31 gts

The easiest way is a bleed valve, but its not the best way as boost will spike. If you want a stable boost level a electronic boost controller is best.

thats a neat engine to have in a R31... anyway. the stock turbo can go to 1 bar max. which is about 14.87psi or somewhere abouts. the cheapest way to do it is to buy a bleed valve of some sort, the turbosmart ones are good. but if you wanted to do it properly i'd go for a electronic boost controller. more accurate and better for adjusting the boost. might cost a bit more but you can do adjustments inside the car. with a front mount you could run 12psi to 14psi all day every day.

My valve never spiked. Held 13psi happily.

Never went past that so i cant comment.

Ash if u r going external gate dont get a avc-r!!! U will be easting your time like i did with the profec b spec 2 and ext gate
