Are these mushroom filters worth the purchase? It'll be replacing my stock panel filter on my N/A R33 S2.

Do I need to build a heat shield for it?

According to tests hks make the worst filtering filters. Ide stick with a apexi or 3a racing pod

just grab yourself a high flow k&n panel filter and it will do the same job. a pod will just suck in hot air from your engine bay and even if you use a heat shield it is hardly effective.

do agree with both of the above.. unless your doing some sort of routed air coming directly from a vent with a snorkel to a 'cannon' styled filter, and seal the thing from your engine, you would probably lose power...

go with the panel filter replacement. you would notice the most difference(if any) from this
