New chat thread name; "How many pancakes does your hamster wear" or "What have you done to your hamster lately?"(no poly pipe comments, ok?)nyaanyaa.gif

You do realise that the thread name CAN be changed by a few select individuals, don't you Dale???

:whistling::P

I've been around almost as long as 66yoHugh but I don't pretend to know everything (or anything if you like). I don't like stretched tyres or noisy bovs but I am quite happy for other people to. Its not the disagreement that's disagreeable its the unnecessary abuse -- I thought that was what Sylvia forums were for!

Peace and Love

...Bob

Shit, I'm one of the youngest I recon(was the youngest stagea owner for a while :P ) and even I don't bother with this section anymore! Those I have met/want to keep in touch with I have methods too, this place is a fkn joke.

Well then, given your unquestioned awesomeness, when is it happening?:worship:

I am starting this!

There is too many punch on's with people throwing letters at eachother, with the dream boats and the f**ks and all this other crap being thrown around.

Yes - I do ignite alot of these fights, but if you can't take a joke, dont respond. ignoring someone is the bigger key to pissing someone off.

Is it gonna stop? or is SAU gonna become another "Performance Forum" (the famous Power Chip story)

your thoughts? and no slanging and cussing. who needs it

just like the powerchip thread. tl;dr

lame fkn meme attempt.

As Rhett said, "Frankly my Dear, I don't give a damn"

I guess I am the oldest, and my son with is 25G, is the youngest. 18 next week.

I also have a "Classic". A lot of s#it goes on there between guys who have S54s, C10/110, etc. Mainly by peeps who think you cant smell them if you are downwind. And even when I had the Sil it was the same.

When this was C34 orientated it was nice and friendly. One guess as to what happened.

So the solution is to make everything the way it used to be? I don't think so.

Things change, that's life. The forum isn't a private club, people need to get past this. Also if the same five people were the only forum users, there wouldn't be much innovation going on would there? :3some:

For the C34 owners, be honest, you're all treading a fairly well worn path with the Rb motor, the basic engine has been around since, what; early 90's? Say what you will, this does make things a bit easier. Also, if you want X kilowatts, there's a clear & reliable way to get what you want. Hell, there's a virtual guarantee. For the most part, it's all been done before. The basic driveline of the car is not unique to the vehicle, and aftermarket support is excellent.

Seems to me that a lot of problems started when people started giving well meaning but sometimes condescending advice for problems that were surfacing with the NM35, (namely tuning) because they'd wrongly assumed that the solution would be the same as a C34 (get a Nistune). Most of these people are quite knowledgable with C34's, but that doesn't really help on a car thet shares very few similarities. When told that they were wrong, or that they didn't understand, they got the irrits, because they couldn't be the oracle on a car they didn't own.

Thaaaat's when the sniping started.

With the NM35 there is very little aftermarket support. Virtually EVERYTHING has to be either custom made or purchased at a high cost. This isn't because it's a shit motor or any of the other throwaway excuses, it's newer and it is ONLY fitted to our vehicle. If you want performance, to a certain extent you are putting your money down with no guarantee of a result.

That takes balls if you ask me.

There's a couple of seriously cluey guys who've put their money where there mouths are and it HASN'T always worked out. They have dealt with problems that simply don't exist with the C34's. But they keep going until they get it. Scotty is a prime example, yet some other members seem to think that effort deserves no respect.

A little bit of mutual respect would go a long way, face to face, attitudes would be a lot different. I've only been to 2 Stagea meets and didn't it turn into a bloody C34 v''s NM35 streetfight either time . Part of the reason I joined the forum and bought the car I have is 'cos I didn't see the owners as a bunch of squabbling children, but as a group who genuinely help one another and are actually interested in the end result. As opposed to watching others fail, then closing the circle to bag the poor guy out.

It's not one side or the other exclusively, doing this, it's a combination of both. The end result, however is the same.

I must admit, i still check in on the Stagea section fairtly often, but it's really only to see what parts are for sale and if there is any cruises coming up.

Because it seems that every single thread has turned into a random chat thread, whether it be Spotted or What have you done to your stagea lately.

I have a genuine interest in these cars but really can't be stuffed scrolling through pages of BS.

It seems to me that the issue is that we have 2 totally different cars, both called Stagea's grouped together.

Certainly tolerance is needed but it seems more and more that if the Stagea section is to flourish then there needs to be separate technical sections for C34 and M35 variants. Whilst the common theme of a Nissan wagon is shared by all of us the technical differences is what seems to start all the disputes. I know that after 3 years of ownership there have been many unique problems for the m35 and when you are searching for a solution for 9 months it can be a little frustrating to get well intention advise that is of no relevance. This does not excuse rudeness but, explains why it is there.

Well this is my 2c worth, I would love to see the Admin team set up specific technical section for the C34 & M35 as a sub group of the Stagea area. This would go a long way to creating peace and harmony. :)

Used to be a nice area to say hello, but went awry a while back.

looks at M35 owners and americans driving c34's in japan !

oh lawd

you are showing your age Sgt Clownman.

+1 for the only problem being all the uselful threads being filled full of BS. Thats what the recipe/chat thread was for. But what do I know? I am just a NA Pulsar driver...

When did Renault buy out Nissan? I think thats the problem.

Anyway im a noob, im a noob

pay me out I dont care :domokun:

(looking for like minded ppl to go on romantic cruises  and talk all night about our loved ones<Nissan's> rofl):P:dry:

......Thaaaat's when the sniping started........,.

and that's the real problem here. People are taking disagreements or personal dislikes from thread to thread.

Leave it behind. Cut the personal stuff and let it all settle down a bit. don't even post a joke that might be taken as a dig for a while.

Everyone in here is a bit touchy at the moment, and we are (presumably) all fans of the same series of cars.

and the only thing dumber than arguing about which make of car is better than another....is arguing about which series of the same model is better! FFS!

Would that have more to do with you buying your R32 and unsuccessfully trying to sell the Stag?

Most fighting on internet forums stems from the belief that anyone who doesn't share the same opinion as you is automatically wrong...

Your wrong

A shit load of people from all walks of life found out about Stagea's and how awesome they are?

Rose coloured glasses need to be removed here if you are referring to it being un"nice and friendly" once M35's were introduced, Hugh.

You know, it's funny that for a group of supposed forum killers, the m35stagea.info forum has no fighting at all.

I guess it just depends on what you want your perspective to me, eh?

    • Hows your intake piping? Are you still running stock? Having in the stock AFM position would mean, if the BOV was shut/venting out, it'd create the almost stalling kind of effect right // "the rich pulse behaviour" due to MAF thinking air is flowing ? But this would be better than having the bov in the stock position + MAF on/just before cross over piping right?
    • Essentially, yes. Although I wouldn't put the AFM on the crossover pipe. I'd want to put it into what amounts to the correct size tube, which is more easily done in the intercooler pipework. I bought a mount tube for card stile AFM that replaces the stock AFM - although being a cheap AliExpress knockoff, it had not flange and I had to make and weld my own. But it is the same length and diameter as the stock RB AFM, goes on my airbox, etc etc. I don't have a sick enough rig to warrant anything different, and the swap will take 5 minutes (when I finally get around to it and the injectors & the dyno tune).
    • So to summarise, the best thing to do is to move recirc to between turbo and IC, and maf on the crossover pipe. Meaning I'd need a recirc flange, drill a hole in the piping on turbo outlet area. And drill hole on crossover to fit/weld maf sensor? Either that or put the MAF on the turbo inlet right?  Is an aftermarket recirc/blowoff valve recommended? Do currently have family in Japan so could probably bring something back with maybe a cheeky lil SuperAutobacs run?
    • Yep, so far most have said that it looks like corrosion on the wall from piston not moving. Which then has probably damaged the oil rings and caused those vertical marks. The longest the engine was still after the rebuild, was the winter of 2018 - 2019, plus the boat trip to Japan. When I shipped the car, it had normal gas in the tank but before that winter pause, it had E85 in tank.  In any case, even if either one of those was the cause, it happened close to 6 years ago and the car has been driven something like 30 000kms after the fact. Again, apart from the plugs and the dip stick, there is nothing in the way the car runs that would indicate what has been going on in the engine. I am going to consult a shop and ask their opinion, what would be the best approach. I do have some access to a garage I could use to diagnose further myself, but time is very restrictive. Might end up buying another engine that could be used while this one is being remedied. Without pulling the head, it will be impossible to find out if it needs another bore, but here's to hoping a hone would suffice.  Goddamnit, I would really have preferred this not happening.
    • Boot is going to be replaced eventually. I just wire brushed what I could and rust converted. Then painted in rust kill primer. the spoiler also got repainted and plugs replaced on the ends. The under side of the bonnet is going to be black also, currently white. But red on the top side, same colour code as the silo to begin.
