Just thought i'd share some info in the hopes that i help someone one day; this car is series II R34 GTT Manual 2 door

on yer general maintainence thread; R34 Fluid levels are mysteriously absent.

engine Oil: 5.3 litres. (Thats including changing the oil filter) Thats what i put in and it works fine.

After that the owners manual isn't kind enough to tell me what gearbox & diff oil to use so i poked around, got the right stuff and worked it out.

Differential: 1.5 litres. I actually found i got about 1.4 in there and it started overflowing out the top bolt; apparantly means its full

Gearbox: 2.5 Litres. Now thats the interesting figure. Search the net and thats all over the place; some say as much as six litres. Bear in mind this is for a manual. i acutally measured what came out of the gearbox into the bucket ( lucky i have mm marks ) and it was pretty bang on 2.5 litres. So i put back in exactly what came out.

And of course; my car is running fine. It's nice; the feeling of the gears now. I suppose i should do this more often.

Hope this info can be of some help.

cheers.

alex

Some diys here say you fill the dif and gbox as much as the filler bolts allow.

Also that its 4_4.5L for the engine. Not sure what the difference is tho, mine always ran fine and never saw an oil light.

Just thought it worth mentioning, theres so much questionable info out there lol. The most important thing is that the car runs safely
