C34 Tailgate Allignment

So i've recently purchased an c34 rs4 stagea and upon getting it home have noticed that the tailgate seems to be sitting to high when shut.

Upon looking into it i found that 1 bolt on the tailgate hinge was missing and another only half done up, all the bolts have some paint missing so it's obvious it's been of before.

I've replaced the missing bolt and loosened and re tightened the hinges trying to lower the tailgate, but can't get it much better.

Ive also tried loosening the taillights and pushing them up as i re tighten them but it's still no good

Does anyone know of any other ways of adjusting it that i haven't worked out yet?

On the body on the car next to where the gas strut connects there is a threaded hole, is anything supposed to be screwed in there?

Can any other C34 owners confirm that it needs to be lowered and that's not just how they sit?

Now that i've noticed this it's really starting to bug me

There suppose to be some large rubber alignment blocks fixed there.

They help centre the hatch when closing and maybe help with the height.
