Hi Chris, Seeing as you are a guru with all things electrical in Skylines can you tell me how the door locking feature should work when operated with the doors closed in a GTR33 Series1,at the moment if I lock both doors from the inside whilst in the car you can still open the drivers side door from the outside,I assume something was not connected properly when the compliancing was done,I am fairly sure the locking knob on the drivers door does not close when the lock is electrically activated however central locking works properly locking both doors when the key activator is used when outside the car.Cheers GREYPEARL.

Chris, Just to clarify my earlier post, should I have to use the key transponder to the ignition to lock the doors when inside the car or should I be able to do it with the door lock switch on the door trim on a 95 Series 1 GTR33.GREYPEARL.

Rob,

given Chris is in Qld he's probably a bit busy but

The switch on the door only locks/unlocks the passanger door by standard

Cheers

Bundy

Cheers Bundy,It's just to play it safe and avoid a car jacking if it ever happened,so I just use the transponder from inside the car if I want to lock both doors, great thanks mate.GREYPEARL.

depending on your skill level that switch COULD be rewired to operate the actuator in the drivers door instead, therefore operating both doors

personaly my alarm locks the doors after I start the car but you could push the little paddle near the door handle instead(probably easier than rootn round with wireing)

not so busy now. all sorted.

ok:

the switch on the door by default locks the passenger door only. drivers side is only a switch. to do it would involve adding an actuator to the drivers door and then wiring it to the other side. that would give you full control of both doors on that switch.

it would be easier to do an alarm on that car though. that way you do not have to fool with the switch. the loking would happen after you switch the IGN on.

understand?

Thanks Chris, and the others who replied, I just thought there was something wrong in the door so wanted it fixed so thanks for clearing that up,I think the easiest way to lock all doors whilst in the car driving is to press the key transponder for central locking.Cheers GREYPEARL.

Hi all

Guys Repeller products are BS a total waste of money and time!

When I bought my vehicle it was fitted with such an after market system.

Only troubles so far!

  • After spending $150 on a service the system worked 3 times and than stopped working!
  • So I went back and got told apparently one of the cables was faulty!
  • After asking how this happened no further response besides the facts that there was a faulty cable.
  • They wouldn't know how this happened in first place! [As if...I only can say]
  • So the faulty cable was replaced.
  • This time it worked for a week before it started playing up again...
  • The system wouldn't lock it kept locking and unlocking in one go!
  • I went back to the same technician and told him to please fix it.
  • He did and...I got told this time it would be the car-manufacturers fault as the system was jamming because of dust accumulating on the systems and causing it to jam....inside the doors cavity.

I was just stunned never heard of such a BS!

Since this last service the system is temperamental and one can never be sure if it works or not!

Most of the time it is back to manual locking.

All I tried is to have a working remote car locking system but all I got out of it is wasting money and time.

I only can say stay away from this product it is a complete waste of money and time!

Regards

Roger
