Hi All, I have just measured the ride height on my 33GTR and found it to be 355mm front and 350 rear centre of wheel to guard, only my back tyres wear out prematurely on the insides, can someone tell me if I only need a standard camber kit as I read in this thread, and what is mean't by standard, is the adjustment already there or only after you fit the kit?? how much are they new,and would you bother buying secondhand?? what brand kit should I look for ?? are they hard and or expensive to fit and can any wheel alignment outfit do it,??I have Tein suspension all round. Thanks GREYPEARL

At that height I believe you need a camber kit if its the same as on gtst, I would get both front and back, just get the whiteline adjustable camber bushes for front and back, and yes any reputable suspension place can install them alternatively its quite easy to remove the arms and take them to a workshop for them press out the old bushes and press in the new ones, 10T press required... then you can just bolt the arms back in and go get an alignment...

$150 approx for each kit I can remember exactly, check forums for people selling new kits or even ebay they come up sometimes... buy new though, you'll need one for back one for front, and they are different part numbers....

all of this info is pretty easy to find on the forums been done a heap of times...

Thanks for the reply mate, shame you are on the Gold Coast and I am in Victoria,I really think I only need to get the back done as it is noticeable there but I like the handling and don't want to upset the front, whats the labour involved in removing camber arms, pressing out bushes, pressing in new ones, re-installing arms.Cheers GREYPEARL.

Im actually in NSW on the Central Coast, its not a shame at all...

Id get both front and back done Im pretty sure if your fronts dont have a camber kit you will be needing one as well to get the perfect camber setting on them, Im using both front and back and Im at a similar ride height to you as well and got the suspension then aligned by a suspension workshop that handles alot of rally and track cars, very noticeable difference once it was setup properly.

Its easy to remove the arms couple of bolts, may need a good breaker bar or extension though, I took the arms down to a local suspension workshop and get the old bushes pressed out and new ones pressed in for $50 and then went home and installed the arms, I also did my sways and coilovers at the same time and then went and got it all aligned... I like doing the work myself and also saving money win win really from my perspective...

    • I don’t really have any ideas how to set the timing on the CAS 😂, sounds like the top, sounds like it maybe misfiring as well as ticking,  got the box sorted 😌, must of been a air bubble on the clutch side
    • Use a 2' length of hose (that's 2 foot, not 2 inches) as a stethoscope to localise the source of the ticking. From cam covers? From exhaust or turbo manifold gasket? From injectors? From lower down in the engine? Etc. Use a timing light to set the timing. Put Redline Lightweight Shockproof in the box. It's not the very best thing for the box, but it will take a box that refuses to engage a gear with other oil, and make it engage a gear. I had to put it in when I installed the R33 box I have in my car. It would not select ANY gear when running. Smurf jizz made it work. That was >10 years ago and I still use it. I'm stuck with it now. Failing that - rebuild the box.
    • Well done Duncan. The fuel tank bulkhead lid is also in great condition (some of mine were stuffed). These are now out of production and good ones like that are becoming hard to come by.
    • Wow that's a steal, you've done well there.
