boky
Just wonder what the maximum power the stock R32 GTR Gear box and 4WD system can handle? I've heard the 32 box isn't very strong.
33GTRV
without mechanical sympathy, they dont last at factory power levels. With mechanical sympathy and careful shifting ect ect, ive personally seen nicks R with 490whp and its the stock box, been in there for 4 years now
doo doo
mechanical sympathy goes a long way, so does a sprung clutch. I have about 400rwkw and stock box with single organic sprung clutch, no issues yet, been a year and a half at that power level and i do like using it..... Deano 1
ive got 300awkw, my box has been through 100s of launchs, dumping the clutch between gear changes, its really had a trashing, ive got a ORC solid centre twin plate too. we will see how long she lasts once my new motor is built. hehe
topher_
I've got 320rwkw and my box lasted about a year, I did treat it pretty hard though, shifting hard etc. Taking it easy with this box now though
R31Nismoid
How long is a piece of string? There is no set figure, same as a stock motor being modified. If you don't want it to break, be nice to it but don't expect it to last forever. It's almost a 20yo gearbox, unknown condition etc etc. Seen plenty die in the 300-400rwkw region, usually stripping 3rd
Duncan
stock boxes die mostly between 350 and 450awkw, depending on driving styl/luck . xfer case should be good for anything.
