Or just go to any of the other car washes late when no one is around and make use of the high pressure hose. When no one is there you can ignore the no bucket rule and take your time :)

Yup, this is something I do on occasion.

I'm staying in a hotel at the moment so until I move into my new house later this week. All my detailing gear is still in transit. So at the moment my options are limited.

I found a Waves car wash at Braddon, are they any good?

I just do what GTRKat recommended.. i got to the one in Belconnen on Lathlain Street (Classic Car Wash??) at about 11pm and use a sponge on those hard to clean spots. Usually costs $8-10 and takes about 30min depending on how thorough you want to be.

My GF previously worked at Waves. They did a good job when she got her washes but the liquid wax they used to use only lasted a week. They don't use that stuff anymore, and I haven't seen the new stuff yet.

If you goto Waves in Braddon, try it out when it's not too busy but not dead.

I went to Waves out at Gungahlin, one of the guys at Trojan Motorsports recommended them when I popped into the workshop today.

Once I'm in my house in a couple of days, I'll go back to detailing my car myself with my Meguiars gear.

I live in a unit so although I'd prefer to do my own it's not always an option - I often use the the Star car wash (now new manager) - first level of the Target car park in the Canberra centre, all washes are hand (no big brushes belting crap out of your car). They also do a good polish, also by hand, various levels of detail various prices .. but good if you want to drop your car off, have it cleaned and come back in an hour after lunch etc and pick it up, it's all done.

    • Does your rb gearbox have the common input shaft bearing sound? (One one where it goes away when u push the clutch in or get to higher revs) I heard if you put the wrong oil it can get this sound.
    • There's more than one way to skin that cat, and most of the sump Maatouks have done will be GTR sumps. They are HUGE in GTR drag racing here.
    • Yeah...I always start at the shift solenoids, because there's only a few reasons these will spook into limp mode, and bad shift solenoids is one ~ the other can be the shift control module (if you have steering wheel shift buttons)...it's easier to eliminate the solenoids first.
    • Might piggy back off this thread since there's been a good discussion about PWM.   I purchased a Walbro 460 F90000267 and have been looking into PWM to understand it. It was purchased more of a future proof as my original OEM fuel pump died (r33 below 200kw) and figured I'd just upgrade it to this. That's when it hit me that a pump this big can cause more dramas with such high amperage draw and heating of the fuel pump being on 100% all the time in such a mild setup.   I have a Nexus R3 and slowly collecting power mods but I was looking into the PWM feature on the NSP software:   Then looking at the graph from the fuel pump:     Am I safe to assume reducing duty cycle to 50% for example would make the pump run like a 230/lph ? Where does the PWM come in all of this ?   I've gone down the rabbit hole of PWM fuel pumps and it seems there are many differing opinions on how to go about it 馃槄
