Hey all.

I am picking up a R33 VLSD this afternoon and am looking at getting it fully rebuilt,

eg, bearings, seals, shim plates, and anything else that needs replacing as i want to eventually put 300kw thru it.

I was just wondering if anyone knew of a diff specialist on the sunshine coast area or northern brisbane area,

if there is no one on the northside i will probably just go to dan at ERD.

Any advice on good workshops would be apprieciated.

thanks Ash.

Diff laping at Kedron has been in the game since Jesus played full back for Jerusalem...

Charlie and the team down there do alot of work with sprint cars, top fuel and monster trucks so they know a few things about holding 8000hp or more...

Didnt know Dan rebuilt diff's?

Doing mine soon Col. Has already done Karen and Marc's. Good results!!!

indeed.

funny watching that car spin both wheels when coming up my driveway (karen driving.)

that diff has been doen VERY well and once I get to that point in my car he's doing it as well.

Col do you know if they do gearboxes as well? I swear mine will need to be rebuilt in the next 12 months.

sometimes I think I bought a lemon but considering only one coil pack and the diff has gone it's been pretty reliable seeing as I bought it 3 years ago.

they rebuilt my 1973 LJ torana box from scratch, many of the parts had to be made in shop as you cant buy them anymore...

they had to machine a new speedo drive and everything, cost me $700 back in 1999 considering the hours labour I was impressed with the cost...

Rev did you have problems with your diff before the re-shim? I ended up picking up H@me's 2nd hand diff and taking it to Dan, I don't think my diff would of survived the drive down to ERD to be honest.

Col I agree with you those costs are impressive, when the synchros get a bit more worn I'll look at rebuilding it, will definitely be getting a quote from Diff Lapping.

thanks for the help everyone
