thanks to those who have made useful contributions. it was great help in weighing up my options

overall it seams the best way to improve fuel economy for my particular situation is to sell the stagea.

the plan is to sell the stag and hopefully trade it in for a new swift for the mrs - i'll keep the laser.

this justifies letting me have a motorbike and installing a ca18det into my bluebird.

sad to see her go, just yesterday i carted 2 peach trees wrapped up in tarps to the dump in it! but where we are in life - there is no room for a stagea also.

on a side note - silver S2 Stagea for sale :teehee: 17's, 3 inch fujitsubo, cat and front pipe, touch screen lcd/navman/tv/stereo, roofracks........ and i just ordered slotted front rotors... :domokun:

I was up for a new set of tyres last month so thought I'd give the Bridgestone Ecopia a try. They claim less rolling resistance & better fuel milage, figured that over the lifecycle of the tyre they may cover their own cost.

The following data reinforces how resistant the mighty Stagea is to anything like this. Or do these Ecopia really do as claimed?, I have noticed the tyres seem to have less temperature build up. Tyre pressure is 38psi.

These readings are based on refueling on the last quarter of tank, filling her up + one more click of the nozzle to make sure, record kms & litres, reset trip meter.

Car is S1 RS4v.

i've got an M35 RS and get (according to the computer) 12.6l/100km around town... so approx 550-600km per 70 ish litres. for this reason, it lives in the driveway and unless my wife and i need to go separate places, we just use the wrx wagon as it gets an easy 10l/100km around town and about 8 on the highway.... totally different cars tho, so cant really compare, but because of the fuel issue we drive the wrx more.
