As topic suggests im after a brake upgrade on R32. Currently running standard gear and non abs master (bm44)

i have been looking at a few scenarios however i think the calipers will need rebuilding and would possibly rather go a bit bigger anyway

option 1 - upgrade standard rotors with slotted f+r and through in a r33 booster and BMC stopper

option 2 - r33 upgrade all roound (calipers and rotor f+r) this can be had for between $600 - 700 and again run r33 booster

option 3 - big kit front and standard rears (can get many bolt on kits avail for sizes 296mm and up for around $600+

=======================

Option 3 is looking pretty good and would prob run 330mm rotor and a 6p caliper and but i guess the question comes to the brake master cylinder. What upgrades are available at cost for no abs. I guess a BM50 would be ok however at $500 a pop for non ABS unit it seems a little exy for the gains

any opinions/details kits or stuff you have done are welcome here. feel free to discuss

Uses you existing caliper and replaces rotor.

Delivery is around $160 to Sydney. DBA list 350Z rotors at around $300 retail I believe.

There is an ebay motors setup that is even cheaper, but delivery might be a killer...

I would go #2 unless I was doing lots of serious track work. They 32gtr/33 gtst calipers and discs are an excellent setup, people just overlook them because they are factory and have no sexy brand.

Re #3, big brake kits are $2k-$5k depending on whether you want to pay for a brand name. I run the generic chinese 8 piston stuff (k sport/d4/g2/etc) on a couple of cars including my race car with excellent results.

Only issue with fitting the 33 brembos is that you're going to also need to fit an A/m prop valve to balance the bias front/rear. Otherwise you'll need to source the master cylinder as well.

People underestimate the OEM brakes, but with good pads (HPS/HP+/EBC), BMC stopper, stainless braided lines, high quality fluid (ATE is best bang for the buck) and slotted rotors (Stock size), you can go a long way. Tracking my car with the above setup but with stock blank rotors, i had experienced very little brake fade within 10-15 laps. Our longest straight was up around 220kmh into a tight hairpin; it was absolutely killer on the brakes. Most GTR's faded, but since the GTST is considerably lighter, we can get away with a decent brake setup for less.

yeah i agree the brakes in standard form are good i just feel a good upgrade would suit. What is everyone doing with the BMC. Currenlty running a BM44 but would like atleast a 1" bore (BM50) however they only come on N1 R32 in two variations and are $500ish from Nissan.

Siurely there like a PBR or something of the likes in a larger size that can be fitted??
