When Did Your Alternator Die?

Im thinking about whether or not to get my alternator rebuilt so I thought I would pose this question to see how reliable they really are.

At what kilometer reading did your Skyline Alternator die?

Lets try get as many responses as possible, so others know what to expect.

mine has done over 220,000km on the factory alternator. i've had it since it was 110,000 and it hasnt died.... yet.

things like power draw from stereo, dust, average engine speed, belt tension etc will change whether a brand new alternator does 40000k-250000k. if it dies on you its not the end of the world. there is usually warning signs and if you turn off non esentials then you should have sufficient time to get home or to a better location. if your worried you can get it serviced and depending on condition maybe 100-250

I wish 100-250. Over here (japan) ive been quoted about 400 for a rebuilt one or double for a new one.

This guy did mine for under $200 as far as I remember. Knows his stuff, alternator been great.
