Ok all you turbo whores...

I'm getting my AP Engineering PFC for my R32 GTS-T in the coming weeks and would like to know the before and after power figures for guys using this ECU.

Preferably results from guys that have had their stock ecu remapped and then opted to put in a PFC as this is my situation exactly. One would think the PFC would yield good results against the remap as the remap of the stocky is only a BASIC retune.

Go for gold.

its as good as the tuner

ie a remap done by an awesome tuner could make 200rwkw

a powerfc tune done by a poor tuner could make 50rwkw

its all down to the tuner, how well they tune it, and how quickly (this adds to cost)

a remap can make 500rwkw as can a powerfc as can a motec, as can a autotronic etc

no ecu is limited to a given power level, any one that says ECU XYZ will make more power, either cant tune it properly or is lying

if the car is tuned properly then there should be bugger all different in max rwkw between a well done remap and a powerfc tune

but back to your original question if it was just a basic remap ie remove speed cut and boost cut

for a typical r33 gtst it might make 170/180rwkw, with a powerfc it might make 200rwkw

again this assumptions on a basic tune and an r33, yours is a 32 so it would be different

surely it would come down to the person who tunes them...

eg.

I had a remap done by the god of remaps and then install a PFC tuned by fred at fred's mech repairs and there was little difference, I would not waste my money again in PFC

or

I had a remap done by fred's mech repairs and then install a PFC tuned by Unique Autosports and the difference was amazingly huge.... remaps suck ass

so real world experience will tell you stuff all IMO, personally PFC will shit all over a remap but Im looking at it from the point of view of future capability of the ECU as well...

I dont think anyone will be able to give you a rough power figure if they dont know your mods :P

Yeah I was a bit lazy wasn't I?

I've got 230.3 kW on 16 psi and the dyno sheet is below...

Dyno Sheet R32 GTS-T.pdf

Full RB20DET rebuild with upgraded rods and bearings

FMIC

Full turbo back exhaust with performance cat

Greddy Dump Pipe

z32 AFM

Cold air intake

Splitfire coilpacks

550cc injectors

Nistune Chip (on stock ecu)

Garrett GT2871R

Bosch 044

Exedy Super HD Clutch

I've just noticed Unigroup did the work (done before I bought the car)

Go hard
