Hi Guys

I'm new to this Forum having just joined last week.

I have a 2003 Skyline 300GT that I purchased late December. The car was running fine but a few weeks ago it started to play up. Its no longer quick off the mark, responsive and smooth.

It has sluggish acceleration/poor pickup, it surges, and lacks power. The symptoms are mild when the engine is cold but become quite obvious when running at normal temperature

Fault codes indicated an issue with the Knock sensor, but replacing the sensor and cable did not fix the problem. The ECU was tried but the fault remained.

Has anyone experience this issue or have an idea of what it may be.

Thanks

had a similar issue and i cleaned the throttle boddy

go to repco and get a throtle body cleaner or carby cleaner usualy is a spray that you can spray in whith the engine runing

here is what to do :

remove air filter and pipes but make sure the maf sensor remains conected while runing the engine

unscrew the 4 screws for the throtle body , clean it inside and out then out it back

make sure while you clean the throttle body you do NOT disconect it from the car or you will get a shitload of errors and will need to do a relearn procedure

clean it inside as well as in the buterfly and put it back and turn on the car and spray inside when accelerating the buterfly wil open to let air in

once done put everithing back and do a reset of the ECU

here is a link

here are some videos on G35 on how to clean the throttlebody :

part 2:

remember it may be harder but i did mine without disconecting teh throttlebody from the car this way i didnt have to do all the relearn procedures

hope this solves your issue

FYI to everybody. The issue was a faulty/noisy Knock sensor and the wiring loom for good measure

 , so you replaced it twice?
