i've just noticed on the rb25det there are an extra line from the head running to the block. what could these be used for? & what do i do with it as the rb30 block doesn't have a tapped hole on the block to fit it...

here's a pic of the rb25det block with the line>>

if he is going aftermarket cams then no need for it really. nothing a good set of cams and adjustable gears and some dyno time wont fix in regard to any VCT losses.

question tho.. any reasons the neo's dont have VCT feeds on them? is it because they are solid lifters so less oil in head.

That is an oil drain, and nothing to do with VCT. It's on the wrong cam to start with for VCT!

Keep it connected, get it fitted to run into the sump directly.

Get the VCT connected. HUGE benefits.

T that line into the turbo oil return.

theres a thread on here for an internal vct feed, if you already have the tools then its free to do and doesnt take long at all, very worth it.

dammit. im going to have to hook this up in my 30.

im going to do the internal VCT feed then widen my oil drains in the head. since the oil restrictors are in the block will that external oil drain make any real difference?

yeah i'm just going to T it into the turbo oil drain.

not keeping the VCT either, i'm guessing all i have to do is block the oil feed off in the head & thats it? anything else i have to do?

it wont stuff the head or anything blocking the VCT off will it???
