I kinda just jumped into this because I accidentally starved my HX35 7blade of oil :( . A word to the wise, don't us F'ing stock Nissan oil feed fittings! There are _THREE_ hidden ninja restrictors! So I landed a brand new billet 5557 T3 .82 a/r rear for a good price. It will be going in my s13 with 25DE/30 with a tubular manifold (unfortunately its a T4 divided manifold so i will have to make an adapter :( ). Damn shame I don't get to put the twin scroll to use!

Looking for a very responsive street setup and a relatively quick 1/4 mile dragger (hoping for 11s!).

I know the new generation of Precision turbos is relatively new, but what do you guys think; Will i accomplish my goals above? Should I have gone larger so I could utilize a T4 divided setup? Is the T3 .82 going to run out of puff?

Thanks guys!

But how can such a big turbo have the response that I'm looking for? The guy says "The GT4088 could be up your street, good responce and I dont think it ran out of puff." Good response? A GT40!?!?

I have a 5557 on an rb25... It chokes the 25 and only makes 245rwkw at 20 psi... Sell it.

Did you read that link I posted?

"a 1.06a/r T4 twinscroll housing builds boost faster than a .82a/r open T3"

"From that result I'd be picking a 1.05a/r twin scroll T4 EFR8374 to be an absolute torque monster on an RB30!"

Read through the RB30 dyno results and pick a turbo from there.

Would be such a shame to not use the T4 twinscroll manifold!

If your after maximum response and dont care about wasting your twinscroll T4 manifold then go a 3076 0.82. Can make a super responsive 300rwkw, check out Al's setup first dyno on Page 4 of RB30 dyno results.

You can get a GT3076R in a 1.06a/r twinscroll - that'd be insane. EFR7670 would be crushing, GT3582R power with better than GT3076R spool

Forgot about the 3076 in 1.06 twinscroll T4! Dont know much about this EFR7670, will have a read.

Serious? The thing is rated at 525 crank hp. What rear do you have on it?

Wow I can't believe a T4 1.08 twin scroll spools faster than a T3 .82!!!

Isn't a 5557 somewhere between a GT3071 and a GT3076? I have the .82 rear. I saw Al's setup and thats what I'm pretty much hoping for.

Damn. Looks like I might be selling it :( .

Jeez Justin I just read your posts in the Precision Billet Turbo thread. Disappointing indeed.

I would be quite pissed if I ran the 5557 up to 20 psi on my 30 and didn't make 300 kW. I wonder how inefficient that compressor is at its "525 HP rated" capacity...

Maybe I should just be a guinea pig and run it ;) .

It would work great on an RB30, we have pushed beyond their hp rating of 570hp.

On pure non-alcohol fuel? That hp rating will be based on 91MON I'd say.

I have a .82 rear... drops off 21psi to 18psi from 6k-7.8k rpm and wont make any more than 250rwkw on 98... The response isn't particulary awsome for the power either..

Sell it!

Hmm...no wonder they never really put any test results of this combo up on here.

I coulda sworn I saw you say you had a .63 in that thread...

Well sports fans.

I'll post up the dyno sheet tomorow.... However-

I ended up making 245 odd rwkw on 98 at 20psi (that drops off to 18psi at 8000rpm) from my 5557 .63 exh housing. All the usual supporting mods, no major restrictions.

I was a little dissapointed. For the lag I would have expected 255/260ish rwkw at that boost level.

It seems high boost is needed for the numbers with these turbo's. I just didn't want to run anymore boost on a stock 100k rb25.

I'll be going to a td06...
