Aight this is hoefully the final version of me and my boot tails, Basically one day i decided that im going to do an overhaul of my car, and clean it out from head to toe, as i doubt its been washed in about 12 years..

So as i set about doing this i noticed a few bits and pieces and was interested in knowing what exactly they do, and what they are! ..

Well considering i dont have a workshop manual, dont have a wiring diagram ..and not knowing anyone with an r32 .. ive turned to you guys for help, and hopefully others can learn from these investigations too

Exhibit A

=======

boot1.JPG

1 - This is the box that activates the word "Skyline" inbetween your tail lights when your lights are turned on *Note: Not all skylines have this-

2 - Bracket That Holds your Jack

3 - The box for your Antenna

Exhibit B

======

boot2.JPG

1 - This is a hatch to your fuel tank

2 - This is the wiring that sends a fuel reading to your "Fuel Guage" on your dash (tells how much petrol is in the car)

3 - *** Unsure what this is but those wires lead to a box mounted on the otherside of the wall ***

Exhibit C

======

boot3.JPG

1 - Power Amplifer for the Car Speakers

2 - *** Unsure ***

3 - Right hand speaker that is mounted in your rear parcel tray

Ther Following photos are of "Exhibit C" .. please let me know if you know what they are?

Amplifier is stock. Everything else is correct as well.

The extra wiring loom i would have a clue, but it looks like all the wires are cut going to it anyway. Perhaps the remnants of a sound system - cd stacker maybe?

Your car is the first r32 that i have seen that has a non-rusty plate thing near the fuel pump wiring. Or whatever that thing is in pic 2 under the number 2 item on the boot floor.

I looked at probably 8 r32s when looking for my car and all of them had this item rusty.

Heres somethign interesting.. i took a closer look at the small bunch of wires (Exhibit Z) and it appears most of the wires are cut except about two which lead to the second bunch of wires..

it looks like the white plug in Exhibit Z is ment to connect into the Power Amplifer.. but its not connected..

wonder why?, any idea?

Edit: is the power amplifer for the car speakers? or for the cars electonics?

Omg, that was like 10 times harder then a thaught just to get some damn night shots of my tail lights..

well after all that hardwork, it just wouldnt happen, just wouldnt come out clear for some reason.. this is the best i could come up with

actually i just took a second look, the pictures arnt even worth posting.. someone with a good digi cam will be able to get a shot off next week.,..

sorry

    • Every time I have to buy new tyres I question what actual difference it makes between running $40 tyres and $300 tyres and whether it's worth it. Because that's a massive difference to the wallet. But then I did go to a driving training at some point which also included emergency braking and swerving in the wet. In part I think it was meant to show people how bad it gets. Funnily enough what I took away from it is that I can go much harder than I thought in my car. I presume mostly because of decent tyres. Some of the other cars there were shocking to behold. And a bit scary that cheap tyres are probably a lot more common on the road than decent ones
    • I'm pretty sure that is just straight AI generated word soup, where did you receive that ad (facebook)? They misspell Pirelli twice, no human eyes looked at that before it was posted. Incidentally, I am running the chinese pirellis on my V37 and they are.....OK....I didn't go looking for them, they were just what the shop had in stock in the tall size that car needs. LIke any brand, you really can't trust the brand's reputation to apply to every product they produce. Pirelli make good and crap tyres, all with the same logo stamped on them, and all with an attempt at price premium due to the brand
    • Welcome.  It's unfortunate,  but a lot of these vehicles just haven't had regular and thorough maintenance for a long while. Once its back up to scratch, it should provide fun and fairly trouble free motoring.  Keep us updated with what you're doing with it.
    • Ya thankfully I've been able to drive it, it's pretty fun however I noticed yesterday while driving to work that my left side of the car is very wobbly, like any bump I go over it jolts the whole vehicle and pulls the steering wheel, I kicked the wheel a few times once I got home and it's a very distinct metal on metal clunk, so I guess I need to take a look at my suspension, maybe it's a control arm bushing or tie rod
