wish i could get that in a bumper sticker

This can be arranged....

I had an older HWY patrol cop pull me over once, surprisingly was one of the nicer cops i've come across, gave the usual wrap and said 'these cars are pretty quick hey'

couldn't help but smile at that.

I was driving to work lazily last sunday afternoon.

Shortly after witnessing a policeman dive out from behind a car and radar the Holden Astra in front of me, a group of what I can only describe as bumpkins driving a massively lifted hilux with "RM Williams" stickers all over it and various other "country" paraphernalia drove up beside me and said "top bloke".

following this,

As they were diverting to another lane the same guy started to yell "hey wanke..." but before he could finish his sentence, I leaned oppressively out my window whilst maintaining my speed of 60km along Roma street here in Brisbane (Read: one of the busiest in queensland) and proceeded to hail them.

I Screamed "Go suck a f**king dick top bloke" so loudly they heard me probably 400m away, the guy looked stunned, pulled his head back in his window and they drove off.

I'm dedicating this to you, the men of fire and steel of SAU !

and Yes Terry, Definitely Spartacus :P

lol

you do get those on occasion

hows this for cliche..

Im out back of bumf*k idaho today and mate asks me to drive him down to this caravan park to do something he had to do. So i roll down there, cruise into this park where there's clapped out falcadores everywhere ,with all the yokels looking at me ,no sure if it was disgust, envy or whats that doin here ,when this guy comes out to have a look at my car..

"awww, shes a skoiliner, awww, and its a manual noice, is it a turbo?"..

I thought of this thread and somehow managed to contain my laughter :whistling:

sounds like some inbreading going on in that place.

"Most highway patrol officers appreciate a nice V8. If you get pulled over in one of those, it's more likely to be because they want to have a closer look at it," he says

Such disappointing comments...

What an absolute crock of shit, Stephen Lacey you are a useless human being.

I've been pulled over in an import before, where a cops sisters husbands motherinlaw aka his mother simply had a 32 gtr previously and simply wanted to check it out.

Then again a mates mates mates mates friends of his sisters uncles brother's v8 was pulled over by a copper because he didnt like V8's.

Do yourself a favour and have read of the comments, they are hilarious. So much hate, mostly for the toyota camry. After reading all these comments no wonder our road system is so screwed!

I enjoyed them too, whenever I end up behind a Camry at the front of a set of lights my god do they take off slow, the semi in the left lane next to them hit 60km/h before the Camry did.

I like it when the bogans know their place, I was driving along sunnyholt road & a p plater VZ passenger rolled down his window & said "so ya reckon this is faster than a commodore mate? Still a P.O.S"

I couldn't stop laughing I gave him a thumbs up

Only been pulled over once in Sydney in 9months. Was pulled over on my first day for a drug check. After that....nothing.

In Brisbane I got pulled over about once per month. Simply because there is so much more breath testing and "random" car checks. Never got defected though, but got the height measured a few times, told to lift the bonnet, "is this turbo", "is this stock", etc etc.

So I think I'm saying that cops in Brisbane will pull you over MUCH more than in Sydney if the past 9 months are anything to go by.

    • Very decent bit of kit. Definitely black it out I reckon.
    • Because people who want that are buying euros. The people with the money to buy the aftermarket heads and blocks aren’t interested in efficiency or making -7 power, they’re making well over 1,000hp and pretty much only drive them at full throttle  best way to way make money is know your customer base and what they want and don’t spend money making things they don’t want.
    • It's not, but it does feel like a bit of a missed opportunity regardless. For example, what if the cylinder head was redesigned to fit a GDI fuel system? It's worth like two full points of compression ratio when looking at modern GDI turbo vs PFI turbo. I'm pretty reliably surprised at how much less turbo it takes to make similar power out of a modern engine vs something like an RB26. Something with roughly the same dimensions as a -7 on an S55 is making absolutely silly power numbers compared to an RB26. I know there's a ton of power loss from things like high tension rings, high viscosity oil, clutch fan, AWD standby loss, etc but it's something like 700 whp in an F80 M3 vs 400 whp in an R33 GTR. The stock TF035HL4W turbos in an F80 M3 are really rather dinky little things and that's enough to get 400 whp at 18 psi. This just seems unwise no? I thought the general approach is if you aren't knock limited the MFB50 should be held constant through the RPM range. So more timing with RPM, but less timing with more cylinder filling. A VE-based table should accordingly inverse the VE curve of the engine.
    • I've seen tunes from big name workshops with cars making in excess of 700kW and one thing that stood out to me, is that noone is bothering with torque management. Everyone is throwing in as much timing as the motor can take for a pull. Sure that yields pretty numbers on a dyno, but it's not keeping these motors together for more than a few squirts down the straight without blowing coolant or head gaskets. If tuners, paid a bit more attention and took timing out in the mid range, managed boost a bit better, you'll probably see less motors grenading. Not to name names, or anything like that, but I've seen a tune, from a pretty wild GT-R from a big name tuner and I was but perplexed on the amount of timing jammed into it. You would have expected a quite a bit less timing at peak torque versus near the limiter, but there was literally 3 degrees of difference. Sure you want to make as much as possible throughout the RPM range, but why? At the expense of blowing motors? Anyhow I think we've gone off topic enough once again lol.
    • Because that’s not what any of them are building these heads or blocks for. It’s to hold over over 1000hp at the wheels without breaking and none of that stuff is required to make power
