Breaking wheel studs...

I broke 2 hub studs off the right rear of the car.

Thankfully it let go 10 meters outside of my place so I slowly drove it into the garage.

Is this common or what?

Does anyone do a mobile replace service for this or do I need it towed?

I've got a broken wheel nut one the back left of one of my cars,

It looks like a pain to remove, will have to drill the stud out I think

Yeah i had this with my R33 GTS-t a while back. Two of the studs broke in quick succession. I just went to Repco and got the R31 wheel studs. Took them to a wheel shop and they changed them over for free.

Worked like a treat!

How the hell you manage that? They shouldn't snap unless the offset is off (e.g. not suitable wheels) or undue pressure is put on them due to one or two nuts not being tightened up.

Don't think its that common, although they can commonly be stuffed by workshops overtightening them using a ratchet gun (idiots).

Yeah, you can fix them I believe by bashing the old ones out with a hammer and putting new new ones in.

This was how mine were changed.

The reason mine broke off was because when i first bought it i ws driving home and the car started vibrating. Pulled over and a wheel nut rolled onto the ground. the idiot i bought it off must have just changed wheels and forgot to tighten...

Big hammer and belt the old ones out then knock the new ones in .Takes about 5 minutes.
