Fuel Filler Cap Surround ?

went to take the fuel cap off the other day and the whole thing turned and came out, just the bit the cap screws into. been to a couple of auto shops this morning and nobody knows what to use to clue (silocone or whatever ) it back in that will be petrol tolerant and not break down,

anyone had this , got any ideas ??

I wanted to change to filler end on one of my R33's so I contacted the company who complied the car to find out what they used.

They confirmed that they simply glued the fitting to the pipe with an exposy glue like araldite. They only used the slow drying version as it is not affected by petrol like the quick drying types are.
