Beware of the odometer in import cars, in general take them with a pinch of salt.

Look at how worn the drivers seat, brake discs, etc instead.

Brake Discs on the earlier models (up to 2005 when they got the bigger front setup) not so much. In America on their G35's they were doing replacement discs/pads as low as 19000miles (approx 30000km's) or even 13000miles (20000km's). There was talk of class action against infinity not sure it actually happened though.

Hi Nas

Don't be so keen to swap to the 5spd gearbox, you'll find that it's a far cry from the luxury feel of the gt8 cvt.

Take this from somebody who have own(ed) both of them ;)

You do have to take care and make sure you have the tranny fluid changed properly ie, correct fluid, every say 80-100k

I did not trust that my GT8 had done 40+k when i bought it so i bit the bullet and got the tranny fluid changed to be safe.

IRev in Bayswater is very experienced with v35 and they have the scan tool. They got the tranny oil at the best price for me.

hey man nah i would never change to a five speed that was just a suggestion by another enthusiast...

i looked at all the things you mentioned when i bought the car to confirm the kms and also ive been selling used cars for many years now so i have a keen eye for that sort of thing hehe

thanksfor telling me about iRev coz i couldnt be buggered taking it to a nissan dealer to plug it into Consult 3 (i think thats the scan tool used for v35, maxima, 350z etc.)

i'll give them a buzz and get it down there when they have time

cheers

Hey Mate

I can help you with this issue you have. We are doing a transmission convertion at the moment which had same issue. Also I have most of the parts to repair most of the V35 Skylines. Series one or two!!

hey!!! i just noticed ur post.... i'll give u a ring during the week

Mate theres an incredibly high chance your going to get fleeced here if you dont get the thing checked out with a decent scan tool.... Thats the last time i'll mention it.action-smiley-069.gif

Why you wont just take it to nissan or somebody with a scantool is just insanity to me.......
