just while on the subject of jacks, a mate of mine has one with a little foot lever on the side next to the handle. it jacks it up like pumping the handle, but it does it faster (and therefor has less lifting force) but it means that when you slide it under the car, you just stomp on it a few times and it has raised it up to be touching the car and taking up some of the slack of the suspension. it is excellent for if you have slide the jack under the car a bit and can only move the handle a little way. you just reach under, pump the little lever a few times and the jack is touching the body, then you can use the handle to start lifting the car.

where are the jacking points on an r34gtt? and where do the jack stands go? (front and rear)

Should be on the inside side of either gaurd, look for a section that is a bit wider and had a bit more bracing than the rest.

Other jacking points are the diff at the rear and the Engine crossmember for the front.

I've had a set of Pro-lift stands from Repco for a few years, spent the majority of that time with a mate's 32GT-R up on them (thing was standing on them a good couple of years) with no problems, and they're the ratcheting ones.

I just got a nice big ass Hydrolic Jack this week. From Supercrap Auto. They had a sale on.

It is a proper heavy duty jack that ican be rebuilt. Retails at $200 reduced to $89.

The sale was only last weekend but if you look online there could still be some available.
