New to the Skyline scene, I've owned in my brief car owning history:

1998 Nissan Pulsar Q Hatch (1st Car)

2001 Mitsubishi Magna Sport

2007 Mitsubishi 380 SX

1991 Lexus Soarer V8 (Trading this in to get the R34).

Really looking forward to chatting with you guys and seeing the next few steps with my incoming car!

Test drove it today and wow, you guys and girls are definately onto something, wicked power, awesome handling and just looks sooooo goddam sexy.

But tell me, how loud is the turbo whine supposed to be with the window down? Ive never owned a turbo car so I wouldnt know.

It really depends whats been done to the bov ive seen stock ones that where really loud... Btw get that trip tronic out and put manual as soon as possible , ull enjoy it more if u track eheh.

How critical is it that I get a turbo timer/boost controller installed by the way?

Umm you dont have to its not like not having them will do any damage. But there good little mods to put on. I'd work on some power mods pod filter and the like

loud turbo whine isnt a good sign, its friction in the turbo and while spinning at 100,000rpm the fans will knock eventually seize, and snap a shaft, or the ceramic wheel more likely.

i just experienced it with mine!
