Hey guys been helping my brother out with finding a clean R32 GTR. He wants to build one so we are looking for a good base to start from.

As some of you would know this is not an easy task. Have looked at around 12-13 so far in about 8 months...Anyway, long story short we have found a black one that is completely imaculate. No rust at all. Engine wise, interior and body wise... its perfect. Well almost, the only thing is that the car has been involved in what looks to be a minor accident (passenger side rear quarter)The owner has kindly allowed us to put it on a hoist and upon doing so we saw that there is no damage to the chassis rails but there is a slight crisp in the wheel arch which shows that there has been some minor panel beating in the arch itself and it looks as though the guard lip has a little bog on it..The dilehma we have is whether to keep looking or to buy. What do you all think? From experience with R32 GTR's their are many many more bad examples than good ones. The damage is cosmetic not structural and otherwise the car is perfect... 95,000 genuine kms with log books, receipts from japan and Australia. Some advice would be great Ross

If it was fixed properly there is no reason to not buy it. Should be fine

Thats what I told my brother.

Hes pretty fussy but, If you look in the right light at the line around the wheel it has been a little lost in some places probably because the panel beater couldnt get it perfect when it was beaten out with the bog.

If the job has been done properly I think is the major aspect..

As above - if it's been done correctly, there is no issue.

Get it checked out by somewhere like Micolour if you are concerned about the job etc.

+1

If your worried get it checked by Micolour. Absolute genius when it comes to 32 GTRs.

Most cars have been in some form of minor accident by that age, whether it be parking/shopping center-speed incidents or something more serious. If it's just one rear quarter panel that's been repaired, then that'd be a pretty minor accident. If everything else checks out and the very minor blemish in the repairs doesn't phase you too much as others have said there's no reason not to buy. There will be plenty more far dodgier examples around.

Thanks the advice guys.

Well i just wanted to clarify as non accident car, no previous damage history are thrown around alot when looking for a car. I know it may just be a selling point and I know that alot of it is not true but just wanted to see if there was any truth in buying car with an accident history.

I guess it comes down to personal preferance. R32's are alot harder to find in good condition than most other skylines. so it's more so the point whether to keep looking or not. If it where a. R34 GTR I think we would have kept looking.
