Nah, I was just going to make something from some rod, flat bar and a spring form a biro.

Ooooooh, ok... I might take a pic and you can tell me what goes where.

yep that would be easiest

It's been a busy week for the old girl.

New bars added into to cage so I can get her log booked and enter TSS. Time is running out though! I really need to get a move on if I'm going to make it. The expensive things are done now though :)

New roof bar and windscreen re-enforcement.

Windscreen re-enforcement and extra side intrusion bar.

Taking the motor out to get a freshen up before her TSS debut.

Cooked-ah!

Piston from that cylinder looks about the same. Top ring turned it's self into a 3 piece :P

All the bearings are pretty broken, even the cams were a little sore so I reckon it's run out of oil at some stage :/ Or oil surge from before I got my new sump hurt it.

Head Gasket blew on pots 1,2,3 and 4.

So yeah, pretty good day in the workshop today, learnt lots and had fun. Massive thanks to Martin and Lloyd at Tas Mobile Mechanic for helping me pull the motor down. :)

Not sure what to do now, I'm thinking because I'm only aiming for 300rwkw, I should get a stock motor and just slap my rocker covers, plenum, sump and turbo on it and go rip some skids.

Another option is to get a turbo motor that needs a rebuild and get the good fruit from my motor and put it in that and make it all nice again.

I'm leaning more towards the first option, mostly because Nissan are a lot better at building motors than me and it'll get me back on the track a lot quicker. The only thing I'd be really worried about is oil control and oil pump, so I'll have to be nice to it and stay off the limiter :P

hi guys

I have been watching this site for a while and i can see why so many cars get stolen or stripped,i am just as much to blame,we are all very proud and brag about our cars but unfortunatly there are a few arsholes out there that are making the most of our hard woirk and ripping the cars off.

I have had few::: but this is my opinion, Also when we cruise lets keep the detailes to a minium as the cops arn"t stupid and can catch alot of us out being a bit spirited during the cruise.;

This post confuses me greatly. Wut?

Agreed..

Stuart, what the f**k are you talking about?

And yes, id love a neo too. Just need the cash...

Any one want to buy some tyres? :P

Neo's are decent, but it would be an added pain in the ass, Your plazmaman wont bolt up nor will your injectors, they run less duration and more lift plus dual stage vct, so it will most likely cock up your tune. That said better piston/ring land and combustion chamber design with lower comp and of course solid lifters makes them pretty reliable especially if you ran it on R33 electrics and on an R33 76deg thermostat but still you're paying a fair amount for an unopened second hand motor generally with unknown history. I'd go a stocker cheapo 33 or a basic built motor (hint, hint) for sure.

Edited by SKiT_R31

should be able to bolt the whole manifold up, afaik the freddy manifolds are the same

if the plazman is the one that replaces the top half of the manifold then you'd probably have to swap the r33 lower half onto the neo motor

then your injectors would work

would definitely need a retune, would be interesting to see a before and after tho

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
