Craig Rundle is talk amongst the town bringing one of the most unique choices of race vehicles (and colour) to South Australia to have his fair share of Time Attack and Hillclimb action!

Craig's Clio V6 Trophy Evo II, recently imported from the Netherlands, classes comfortably within OPEN/2WD.

Supporting a 280bhp approx. rear 3.0 V6 engine, 6 speed sequential gearbox, fully prepared 2 seater shell with welded in cage, and weighing in at under a tonne, combined with Craig's extensive racing experience, this hot hatch should not be under rated as a contender for outright OPEN.

From what started life as a 1986 BMW E30 2 door 318i auto, Mark Goodliffe has built from ground up (all in the back shed) a light weight all round competition weapon!

This BMW packs a Euro spec 343hp 2003 E46 M3 engine (3.2 N/A inline 6 with dual variable valve timing) into the fully prepared 318i shell with Walker Chassis welded in cage. The driveline follows suit utilising items from the E36 and other various BMW models. Mark has cut no corners on this build supporting a serious Wilwood brake kit application, coilover suspension, Velo Racing safety equipment, and impressive fuel system.

Although Mark's BMW package is yet to be thoroughly tested, we expect the rumored E85 tuning and Dunlop DZ03 fitted tyres to bring this 1986 BMW into OPEN/2WD contention!

Backed by Adelaide Radial Tyre Co. in the 2011 Tuner Series, we hope to see Mark and his BMW battle for the series class podium.

S & J Automotive are strongly represented in the 2011 Tuner Series with the Time Attack debut of their impressive MY99 STi. Typically driven by team principle, Sean Day, to the pointy end of high profile Hillclimbs, this 1,300kg 320kw STi will be at the helm of 2009 & 2010 CAMS SA/NT Future Star Nominee, Daniel Day.

Daniel, at only 16 years of age, has developed and matured through a variety of motorsport disciplines and opportunities in recent years, enthusing for an international rally profession prospect. Showing promising results in high profile Hillclimbs and State Gravel Rally events, Daniel has generated an extensive support network to back his motorsport passion and ambitions.

Although currently studying at Urrbrae High School, Daniel is never too far from the S & J Automotive and Rally School workshops employed part time expanding on his mechanical knowledge and professional driver development. With proficient driver tutoring from all inspiring Steve Glenney at both Rally and Circuit disciplines, count on Daniel Day to lift the OPEN/AWD bench mark at each Mallala round this series!

The well presented and prepared S & J Automotive MY99 STi with a full Walker Chassis weld in cage is a full noise Hillclimb bullet, supporting a 2.3L Sleeved Closed deck engine, Extreme Race ported heads, 264 cams, TD-06 76mm Turbo, EcuTek ECU/E85 tuning, AP/Brembo brake package, and full Tein/Whiteline suspension package. This STi is sure to attract interest from all enthusiasts and lay some brutal Hancook R-spec race rubber at Time Attack!

Steve Knight, fresh off his 2010 Time Attack Series Championship win, is back to defend his title putting his own workshop into the Tuner Series 2011. Steve Knight Racetech will be setting sights on outright in 2011 being one of the select few teams submitting a PRO compliant entry.

Steve suggests that his EVO 6 is finally tuned and mechanically prepared well in advance of Round 1, preventing any last minute surprise tuning in the early hours of the night before! However, Steve Knight in true form will never be totally satisfied and minor tweaks in set up will likely be called upon pre event.

The SKR EVO 6 supports an E85 tuned 2.3L with a 30/76 Garrett Turbo punching out some serious output through the PPGearbox. For a relatively unmodified appearing EVO 6, the Proflex coilover kit and Dunlop DZ03 tyres should assist harness the acclaimed 450kw it now possesses. Already running into the low 1:13s at Mallala on R-spec tyres, the addition of SKR in-house aerodynamic aids should see this PRO entry be the one to chase, and present as if it was meant to be up there!

Willall Racing is back in 2011 and gunning for a domination overload! Compiling a hefty team of drivers and GTR/STi specific vehicles to validate their Tuner Series campaign, Willall Racing present as the front runners for all representing classes.

The R35 GTR of Keir Wilson will be a special PRO compliant entry pushing for the Tuner Series Championship in 2011. Keir's GTR had the fastest mean series time in the 2010 Tuner Series, which is very impressive considering the limited trim and weight removal usually found on production vehicles at this level of completion!

History suggests that Willall Racing are determined to keep their typical Time Attack vehicles within realms of street orientation, banking on their extensive workshop set up, tuning and experience to get the results needed without over capitalising on a full race prepared fleet.

The question we all want to know is what Willall Racing have devised in the off season to get Keir's GTR to the front of the PRO class category! Willall Racing CEO, Martin Donnon, informs event organisers that "they have been fine tuning the GTR's Time Attack package for some extra speed". Rumors of an extra 200hp engine and all-round 295mm wide Bridgestone RE55s should just contest to that!

Willall's will have some very fast GTR's out for this day - well worth getting to the track for a look!! It is going to be a very challenging day with the broad array of high performance track cars entered.....

I just hope my vintage 22 year old datto is up to the task.....

What time does the action begin, and what is the cost to spectators?
