Hi, has anyone got any recommendations for a game that is both a Strategy and Shooter game. Mostly for single player along the lines of Battlezone and Battlezone 2 if anyone remembers them. Preferably not requiring too high PC specs to run.

Thanks in advance.

Battlefield Bad Company 2. If you're playing on PS3, buy the game and be done with it -- if you're planning on playing it on PC, make sure you have at least 4GB of RAM, at least a 1GB GPU (such as the 1GB GTX 460; Asus, Gigabyte and EVGA are good brands), and a quad core CPU, the i5 2500k is a very good choice if you're planning on upgrading anytime in the near future, as it's clockable to amazing extents without much of a cooling requirement (if you do end up upgrading to it, get the P8P67 as your motherboard assuming you don't need more than 3 SATA connectors (see: here).

Hope this helps. PM me if you want game-specific information, system requirements or my opinion on a game's gameplay.

BC2 runs tits on my i5 with GTX460 FYI ;)

It shouldn't. Are you using an i5 2500k? or a different i5 model? Every single i5 other than the 2500k and i5-760 are pretty crap. Also, is your GTX 460 1GB or 768MB? What resolution are you running at? Any 1GB model will support up to and including 1920x1080 @ 60hz.

Personally, I have 2 PCs, and BC2 runs at 80 FPS solid on both systems, if not more. The system I play it on most has a Phenom II x4 955 Black Edition OC'd @ 4.0ghz, 1GB GTX 460 .w 4GB 7-7-7-20 1333 RAM -- it's more of a movies/music/rendering computer more than anything. My 'main' PC has a i5 2500k OC'd @ 5ghz, 16GB 8-8-8-24 2000 RAM and a GTX 580 .w an additional 1GB GTX 460 dedicated to PhysX.

All this assuming "tits" = "crap". If not, forget I posted this. :P

Its for a PC but I was hoping for a game with the RTS element - for example in the old Battlezone 2 game you build tanks, factories and whatnot but you can also run around on foot or in a vehicle and shoot stuff up. Alternatively you run into an uplink centre and get an overhead (normal RTS) view and build your base or send units off to attack etc.

see here http://en.wikipedia....ki/Battlezone_2 if you dont know what I am talking about. Was fun but graphics are shocking by todays standards obviously and the gameplay was a little frustrating at times so I would really like to play a newer game along the same lines.

By the way thanks for the replies.

hehehe I had a bad feeling it would be a dead end. There is a bit of a mod community for BZ2 active even now but no one has tried porting the game to a newer engine sadly

Thanks for the replies anyway guys..

So I just turn on my computer by pushing the power button and I click on the program twice kind of fast and it opens and I play.

Seriously though, Rainbow 6: Rogue Spear. It'll run on Pentium 2 onwards...

Mines an emachines 350, in all its atom powered glory. Plays CSS with everything on high except water effects - framerate is borderline playable though - I dont know why but for some reason turning the video settings down doesnt seem to improve framerate. I will have to research and see whether upgrading to 2GB RAM makes a difference. As much as I would love a tower here its a pain when you have to cart it from prefecture to prefecture when work contracts run out. Anyway thanks again guys.
