I got my nistune software and consult cable etc few weeks ago, now when I go to consult gauges with the car running, it show's u rpm, afm voltages, o2 sensor etc etc

I noticed that one of my o2 sensors is showing 0.08ish at idle while the other is showing 2.50ish

I disconnected the back o2 sensor nothing changed, plugged that one back in and unplugged the front one and both showed 0v now

Why is it when the front one is disconnected both go offline according to the consult gauges ?

It's almost like the front one is controlling both? But ones voltage is mega high?

What the hell is causing this

well first of all I'd say it's faulty sensor. as to why they both disconnect when you unplug one of them I have no idea but it certainly sounds like one or both of your sensors need replacing.

Honestly just disable them through the menu and tune around them.

I managed 600kms to a tank on the FWY with a 350rwkw 33GTR and no O2 sensors enabled. I can get around 250-400 around town depending on my mood :)

They honestly do sweet FA if your tune is good. Saves you money as well.

I didnt run them in the GTS-R either, and with a 270rwkw setup and 4.3'a (so over 3000rpm @ 100km/h), i still could get 550km to a tank

hmm interesting point...it got road tuned on sat, and managed about 250kms to half a tank, giving it a bootful too so im happy with fuel economy

might just let them be, saves my $500 or so aswell

cheers

We tuned it how it is Michael so i would just leave it exactly how it is.

When u get the cam gears etc we can retune it without the 02sensors but honestly

I wouldnt worry about them especially if ur getting 250 to half a tank. Must be a good tune :)

    • Ha ha ha, mine loves to spend, all on the dogs (they're our kids, and her spending would likely rival that of some people raising children!) the only benefit is, her spending is tax deductible as she runs a business in the dog industry 😛 The above all means she can spend race car budget quicker than I can. 😛 That and a lot of the things I want are very expensive, and I can be a bit "you want how much for that?!" And at other times overly impulsive. Or I start the w days of research, get to day 1.5 and get really annoyed that no one will advertise actual specifics and it's just marketting BS and I go "well, now I don't want anything to do with that now!" Also I hate paying lots of money for something I can make from $50 in materials. Then I get the shits halfway through making things and wonder why others who just buy parts have more fun... 😛
    • Their 240Z with the RB26 would be a real nice thing to have in a garage to come out for an occasional weekend cruise It's such a cool thing in so many ways Sadly, we have a blue 240Z shell that I walk past every day, just sitting outside a shed at work, it has been slowly disintegrating and falling apart into the ground for the last few years, the owner cannot be found, and I am unable to "claim it" I've been told by work and the RMS, the rust in the body is excessive though, and it has had most of the salvageable stuff, like panels, trim and switch gear stripped off it over the last year or two, work keeps threatening to put it in one of our metal scrap bins, I wish they did though, as it makes Mark sad walking past it
    • Good tips, I like it! 😂😂 My wife is a LOT more frugal than me so it's only me we need to worry about! A splurge to her is buying 2 pairs of socks in one visit at Kmart!
    • Haha, the appropriate response to the question "Is this new?" is "I've had this for a while.". With the unspoken small print that a while may be the time since this morning or five years ago   And to be fair I learned that from the best, i.e. my wife. Because it goes both ways.
    • Yeah kids certainly add a whole another dimension to your life.  Life ceases to be about you and more about them for a while!  And I wouldn't have it any other way.  I love watching them play sport and make new friends along the way. Wow, sounds like your mate is a good guy to know!!!  He's got some serious toys in the toy box!  Yes it would be lovely to be able to do stuff to your car without getting all tied up in boring shit like how to pay for it!!  I would describe my spending style as "aggressively spontaneous and logical but regrettable purchasing"....  That will hopefully make no sense at all which would be appropriate given that is how I buy stuff.  I'll decide at the drop of a hat that I'm buying something expensive, research the living shit out of it for 2 days straight then go out and buy it.  Then I'll have instant buyers remorse for 2 days which generally passes by the time it turns up on the front step!  If I'm feeling ballsy sometimes I'll tell my wife.  Other times it just makes its way silently passed the house and out the back to the shed, never to be spoken of again...
