How much for your L2 kit,? your car has a lot in it, remember you told us to dial it right back its still running in that mode yeah? pull as much low as possible at the sacrifice of top and mid. i would prob buy it.

How things change in 12 months. :)

Gonna keep the L2 mang, it's too good of a setup to bin.

The tune is the same after the cam gears went in and we hunted for more response. I'm still collecting parts for the factory manifold to go back on.

One day I will come to see you for an E85 tune. Probably when the manifold is back to factory. :)

I would go E85 before the plenum change. On E85 I think the top end you get from E85 may mean its worth the trade of torque at 4,200rpm. If running 98 I would go back to std plenum

Why do you say these things...

Luckily I have not spent any real money, time or effort going back yet.

Perhaps it's worth dropping cash on a better fuel system and E85 in the new year regardless and seeing what comes of it :)

Better fuel system? I kept everything 100% the same except for injectors. Same Nismo fuel pump, lines etc etc etc. Just bigger injectors and re-tuned Power Fc which I flop between 98 and E85 when I know I am not going to be near E85 (rare these days in Melb)

It made very little difference at same boost, maybe 5%, but when I wanted to run more boost it actually made more power and the extra 3-4psi meant another 30rwkws. With the std plenum it would have fattened up the mid a smidgen but typical of the std plenum at 8,000rpm it would have fallen over rather then keep on climbing-holding power

You can see the shape of the curve with std plenum (98 and 100 fuel)

Then with Plazmaman (plotted against std plenum..can see the trail in power at high rpm and the difference in response)

Then Plazmaman and E85

I am only guessing but if i still had the std lenum then you can imagine ay 200km/h it would be 30-50rwkws down on the plazmaman. So means with E85 if you keep stoking the fire you can see you have a pretty wicked spread of power making 260-300rwkws from 135km/h to 203km/h. In my books makes the car pretty genuinely fast to punt

Can't argue with that.

I will be looking at bigger injectors at a minimum. 550cc RX7 injectors on E85 will be at their limit.

There is a Bosch 023 in the tank but I've never liked the way it fit's in the cradle compared to say a Nismo unit. (Probably just me being picky).

    • Sane enough. Remove the roof liner, because the acid will go everywhere.
    • Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help and experienced opinions.  I have spent a lot of my life working on boats so I'm pretty good with fibreglass. I'll take everybody's advice in here;  I'll cut a little more of the 2nd layer away as it's a bit crunchy rust and also it's sitting high now. Then I'll wire brush it all a bit to get off anything loose, then I'll soak the bejesus out of it all in rust converter. I'll make sure to get a little hose piece and feed it into all the holes and gaps between the roof layers. Then I'll fibreglass up the holes.  Then I'll get a pallet of filler and mix it with 3 buckets of hardener and hope that is enough to build up the roof corner.  Does that sound sane? Is one type of filler better than others for this?
    • My goals for it atm are to get it registered, respray and some mild power gains eventually... I picked up the car from an elderly gentleman near the border of NSW and VIC, its honestly a bit rough and looks like its been driven on a farm (because there was so much dirt underneath). Last week I dropped the subframe and emptied the old fuel out + added a new fuel pump (think the old one went bad from old fuel). Now I'm onto fixing a coolant leak at the rear of the engine + adding a new radiator as the old one is corroded. After that i have a new bumper, coils (as the old were leaking) and lots more
    • Welcome buddy! Plenty on here and YouTube. What are your plans for it? Good luck with the Rwc and Rego bud!
    • Love this so much! Please post a photo when you have a bike on the trailer.  I was a little bit worried about having a tow bar on the Skyline, but having it hidden behind the number plate is genius
