i've heard that the CVT Extroid 8speed tranny's are quite temperamental if not serviced properly and i'm not planning on twin-turboing my 350GT sedan any time soon :P

I'm just curious to see if anyone has heard of someone who's pumped a considerable amount of power from their V35 or other car equipped with the same transmission...if so how much and for how long?

oh and why does 1st gear in my 350GT go up to 80km/h???

i had a mate get in with me the other day and showed him how the car goes and he was like "WHOA DUDE IF 1ST GEAR GOES UP TO 80KM/H...WHAT DOES 8TH GO TO?!?!!!"

just thought that'd make some ppl laugh....i was pissing myself while trying to explain the car doesn't do 500+km/h :rofl2:

...but seriously has anyone pushed lots of power using this transmission or seen someone do it?

Yeah i think you'll find nobodys been game enough over this ways to try anything big with them. Im sure it will handle bolt ons like exhaust, spacer and all the other stuff that doesnt make much difference. Iv seen plenty of japanese ones with the usual mods.

Its funny how we now have about a million pages on here of people claiming their auntys sister had one and it blew up (i honestly think its idiots getting fleeced by dodgy dealers and mechanics if anything). Yet only one first hand case that iv seen.... was on the vq30det powered gloria that was on here (which i assume was boosted up). But no actual proof of what may have caused the damage so nobody really knows what they might take yet you can assume just by the way they work that your pushing shit up hill doing anything outrageous to them.

Id love to get my hands on a gloria and just boost the shit out of it to see what happens but they arent cheap enough for that carry on yet.

It would be nice to be able to reprogram the gear ratios. Imagine that... that would keep me happy for ages just playing around with that.

The glorias with the exact same box had six "gears".

And im pretty sure the later model gt-8's around 2004 up got like a 4.1 lsd or something like that so they would be alot different to drive if the gearbox and ratios are all the same as the old 3.6

We need somebody with some brains to get into these ecu's and make them openecu like the evo's/sti's
