Ok so I have no idea where I should post this, If i'm wrong please move it - or not a mod, tell me :).

I HATE how the rb25de and det neo engine covers look.. I cant stand the square box. I just despise it. But after taking it off, Im not a huge fan of how it looks underneath... it just looks a bit shitty imo. Im much more a fan of the longer rectangle ones, eg from the rb26's, I read a while back somebody saying they were actually a direct match and could be swapped, anyone confirm if this is true, where I could get one, and the process? :P thx

Also, even if the covers arent direct swaps, maybe there are some better looking ones for sale out there that im not aware of? I want my engine bay not making me sad every time I open the bonnet :(

the rb26 cam covers fit no changes required... but if your using the stock cross over pipe I dont think they will work for you as the cross over pipe will foul on the cam covers, Im using a front facing plenum.

but if you want the timing belt cover to match seamlessly with the cam covers you will need the rb26 belt cover and backing plate, the rb26 covers are slightly more rounded and therefore the 25 belt cover doesnt match the shape.

I currently have the rb26 cam covers and valley cover on my 25 and Ive got the belt cover and backing plate there to install, I just want to get them all freshly powder coated first.... the belt cover needs either a whole or a lump modded into it as the rb25 as VCT intake cam end to consider, I'm getting some welding done on mine for this and also grinding off the rb26 raised letters...

there are a few threads about this already thats how I found out about it all...

Yeah i'm just cutting a little hole for the VCT to poke out of for mine. Shouldn't look to bad. Will paint the VCT black so it doesn't stand out to much and am going to sand back the "26" on the cover so it just says "RB".
