That is a R-tune bonnet with nismo z-tune fenders. I have all the Z-tune smoked lenses will install them once car is running.

Below are some pics that may help you.

I also have some spare nismo rear guard covers like the z-tune.

Cheers Bobby,

How much for the rear guard covers?

I know what the top pic looks like all to well!

Hey do you know where the splitter came from in either pic?

Hi,

The rear guard cover im after $500 for it as they are original nismo.

The splitter i got custom made by bodyform. I can organise one to be made if you like.

How good is the finish on the splitter, is it pinholed at all?

I have been chatting to Empire Aero too, does anyone know if they are any good?

Just spoke to peter regarding the splitter not good he said he would not make it for anyone as it was a one of job sorry about that.

the only other way to buy one is from nismo, if you own a z-tune and im sure it will be very expensive.

Good to get some feedback about the quality of the various body parts available out there. I was considering these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1999-2001-Nissan-Skyline-R34-NS-Carbon-Fiber-Fenders-/330539641484?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4cf5b2aa8c

Considering how cheap the USD is now, as well as being carbon, it would be interesting to see what the fitment quality is like.

Edit:

I'll add... while it might seem pricy. I'd rather pay double than have to pay a body guy to get some substandard quality guards to fit correctly by filling them with bog. 1/2 the time they would never be identical from left to right if they had to be "custom fitted" as well...

seibon stuff is not bad. but i haven't personally used their 34 gear.

I bought the sunline guards that we put on berry's R34 and they were perfect. fit and hang just like a factory guard. amazing quality. they do FRP guards too which are quite a bit cheaper than carbon. the kagotani bar we used on that car fitted perfectly too.

the nismo stuff of course has the best fit. basically oem quality but is very expensive.

  • 4 weeks later...

Finally I have had the chance to do some work on the car, it has been a pretty big couple of weeks.

On the engine front, we are delayed by the sump and rings at this stage, they are both in the water somewhere making their way to Australia, so the block and head remain as they were.

In regards to the body, I did get some primer on the front end, it is working as a bit of a tell tale coat, showing up pin holes of which there are many! As many have said previously, buy the NISMO parts, you could easily spend the other $7,000 on making them look respectable. Lots of bubbles, pinholes and pretty sloppy workmanship unfortunately. But at least it isn't holding up the project at the moment, so the time taken isn't much of a factor.

The supplier sent out some mesh for the cavities on the bumper and guards, it is a little too large. the stuff that came with the bonnet is a little too small.

Does anyone know where you can get mesh of the same size and similar strength of the original GTR infills?
