Experiences with Royal Purple oils would be good to hear about.

I've heard conflicting oppinions on Royal Purple being a "superior" oil - I currently run Castrol Edge 5-40...

Also, is the "high performance" oil filter just a gimick or do the GReddy/Trust filters flow better?

Jimmy

With regards your oil questions - all are answered here: The Goods on Oils. The thread is huge, sticky, and is an amazing source of information. Personally, I wouldn't use anything less than a Group IV oil in my car.

I don't think flow is really a consideration for filters - correct me if I'm wrong - more their filtration capabilities.

Yeah I saw the thread but thought maybe we could have a dedicated royal purple discussion.

Problem with the thread is there is 90+ pages of it - hard to get specific questions answered.

**BUMP** for performance filters oppinions.....

Nope, if a filter can't flow enough due to blockage from sludge or way too fine filtration, it simply by-passes the filter element and then you run on partially un-filtered oil.

If you want mega fine filtration, run a by-pass system. Toilet roll filters will get down to 1 micron.

Leave the full flow to do its job.

So with regard to the GReddy/Trust oil filter...is it worth it?
