Marko R1
hi guys, my gtr has developed a funny noise & i can hear this when i drive, regardless of speed...if i push the car slowly in the garage i can also hear the noise so its not related to loading the driveline & its definitely coming from the rear left wheel. to me it sounds like its coming from the wheel bearing as it kind of sounds like its travelling thru the brake disc itself. best way to describe it, sounds like a 'RIRIRI' @ high speed & low speed its more of a crackly sound, similar to when u rub your hands together when they are dry & the slip shutters with a noise (dont know how else to explain) any pointers or ideas? Duncan
the second noise you are describing sounds like a brake pad rubbing on a disc, not a problem. in fact both could be brake noises, have you pulled them off? Marko R1
not as yet duncan - i know what u mean about brake pad riding the disc but also odd that it still makes the sound at 60kmh all check disc pads & adjustment on hand brake drum pads Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/354269-most-unusual-noise-developed-from-the-rear-left-wheel/#findComment-5676274 Share on other sites
Marko R1
lol - i went to take the rear wheel off & 4 of the 5 wheel nuts were not tight...the noise was the rim rubbing against the disc hub, explains why it got progressivel worse on the last drive Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/354269-most-unusual-noise-developed-from-the-rear-left-wheel/#findComment-5678503 Share on other sites
