Your more likely to sell it to someone outside SAU. Most people on here already have their pride and joys.. So concentrate on the carsales ad rather then on here.

Mine sold to a guy who saw it on Carsales. Worked out well as my Carsales asking price was 1k higher than SAU price pirate.gif

Sadly silver ones are worth MUCH less than all the other colours, as they are so common. When I bought my black one for $30k a year and a half ago the same yard in Sydney had plenty of silver premiums that they said they would do for $20k cash even back then .... and there was a silver 2003 on Prestige Motorsport out of Japan for $17,300 landed and complied a little while back. Sad to say but the price are definitely slipping. A mate is trying to sell his mint low km pewter 370Z here in Adelaide and hasn't had a single bite at $53k :( ..... bad, bad, bad car market at the moment.

Just out of curiosity what will happen if I go to a dealer and day they offer 20k and I wish to buy a car from them worth say 15k what will happen to the 5k left over? Also another scenario if I get offered 20 and I want to buy a car that's worth 20? Always wanted to know the answer to this

If your waiting for the value if your car to go up it won't happen. This isn't a slump and recoveries just around the corner, we just own cars with bugger all resale value.

Unfortunately v35s don't have the magical attraction that the old school i6 turbos had, they're not sports cars as much as they're sporty luxury cruisers. So the import price sets the ceiling, and money is knocked off that for age, k's , non stock bits, a little more if the dealer thinks he can't sell it quick and then a chunk more to give him a profit margin.

So don't sell it to a dealer if you want market value for it, but be prepared for a long wait for a private buyer to come along.

Question

Do you think the value of the cars will increase Once the Infiniti Brand comes to Australia

If the value will increase what do you think that percentage will be?

Once the cars go on sale, the G35 may cost $80K, then our cars will hold more Value, plus Infiniti will want to get our car out the market.

I think you mean the G37. And i think we will only get the G37 Convertible. Plus the other cars but not the G37 coupe/Sedan

So we can still import the V35 and V36

Thats what i've heard

the Infinity brand is due here end of 2012.

the G37 will be up against the Mercs, BMWs and Lexus brands. the price will be $80k plus.

the v36 may hold their price but in 1-2 years time the v35 will be dirt cheap

I am not to sure what you guys have been drinking here In OZ.

Being an American,,,I can tell the G series are Very Seccessful against the Bimmer.....

If you do some research you will find the world love the many dfferent G models.

I am not to sure which model will come here or when they will arrive<<<<<

But the 330Hp G37 is just $38K $10K cheaper then the 300Hp Bimmer 335i which cost $48K, in the states, plus the cost of a 335i Bimmer will start at $108K all the way to $130K, and it slower!!!!

Anyone who compares a G Series to a Benz has to idea of the market of the G.

O....the Lexus is here>>>check out the Lexus IS350 Power 233kW @ 6400rpm,,Torque 378Nm @ 4800rpm 3.5L engine and the price starts from $64K to $81K and this is as close as it comes to the G series 4 door model.....

If the G model prices are close to the Lexus prices then PEOPLE WILL buy them.....some people paying as much as $76K for the IS250 Model which is a JOKE!!!!

^^ What you need to remember wizlb is that you can forget all the prices of cars in the USA - the tax levels and Luxury Car Tax differ here from brand to brand, from price range to price range. The GTR is the perfect example - $175k here, less than half the price in the USA. Plus Inifiti has been successfully marketed there for a long time - I can't see for a second how they are going to compete with BMW and Merc here, as if the prices are anywhere near, then most people wouldn't touch them.

mate, the thing with the Japanese luxury brands ie Infiniti and Lexus, they will offer so much more in their cars than what BMW, Merc and Audi will for the same $$$. that is why ppl will buy the jap luxury brands.

have you been in a 3 series? biggest piece of $hit ever plopped out. and ppl are paying retarded $$$s for it...

personally, the less skylines on the road the better :whistling:

i like to feel special

I think and...and I have to say I have been wrong so many times before...

But around the world...the Infniti and Lexus models are price very simpler.

So if the 4 door Lexus is350 is about $85K then the 4 door G37 will be close to the number and maybe a bit lower as they are in the states.

And as far as the price in the states we are not talking importing a car here we are talking price placement to compete in the marketplace

I think the price range maybe between $60K to $90K from the 4 doors Gt250 to the Gt350 2 doors

And remember there are a lot of G Series cars that are not very powerful and will not cost to much.

Just my last 2 cents....LOL

The V is not worth as much as most people are trying to sell it for, when you look at it the skyline brand attracks younger males in there 20s, and they dont have a lot of cash to splash, i paid 19k for my 03 with 76000km in feb, when i was looking i was not going to pay for 20k for a auto. If its a manual then it is deff worth more probable around 22-24k but dont expect more then that unless you have turbo/supercharger kitted it.

Yeah well said wizlb, I agree.

T4NK I think you are wrong. Look at what other cars are out there in this price range with the V35 level of quality, power and looks, and there is not much.

Every today as I drive around I get lots of looks, and even people coming up to me telling me how much they love my car (a young Middle-eastern girl came up to my house and told me how much she loves my car when I was working on it in the garage last week). I thnk for $30k they are great value. At $20k they are a steal IMHO.

    • Yeah, really happy with how it all turned out As for aftermarket lip, nah, I'm not really a fan for practically reasons on a street car that gets driven everywhere  I did have the full lower kit on my 2015 STI, but found the front lip scrapped alot, even at stock 4x4ish ride height As the NC sits now, with the lowest point of the car at 110mm, so just legal, some steep driveways and steep speed humps will still "just" scrap those little plastic OEM air dam thingies on the undertray just before the front wheels
    • Here's one I help build and tuned a decade ago, Garrett  GTX3071R Gen 1, T3 twin scroll 0.83 rear housing. Went from larger 272 cams down to smaller Tomei Poncams to help with the low end. S13 non VCT motor. Car was purpose built for the track, hence low down was the focus. Note the actual dyno chart shows lower boost, however the EBC and boost gauge showed 1.9Bar (Ignore the torque, I was young and didn't know how to set derived torque)
    • I’m doing some side developments on SR20det S13 engines, its one my hobby cars used it to compare flow capacity of some smaller size wheels. SR20det is one of another JDM legendary engines I'm sure there are plenty of SR enthusiasts on this forum, I will share results some common turbo configurations here. a quick run down of what the car is: Wide body 180sx Type X with black top engine (blue). It has: Stock bottom end Haltech 1500 ECU 5-0 motorsports trigger kit Kelford SR20DET Beehive Spring with Titanium Retainers Kelford Cams SR20DET S13 188-B 268/272 Cams G25-660 Turbocharger in T2 .64 rear housing internally gated ARP Head studs MLS head gasket 1000CC ID injectors Walbro 450L Fuel pump Front mount cooler kit JJR’s 3 inches turbo back exhaust (its too short for the 180sx it had to be extended) Pump 98 fuel Hub Dyno tune So far made 270rwkws at 22psi full boost by 4500RPM. Engine is very knock limited hence a pretty bad looking top end. From previous experiences it seems like SR20dets are happier with bigger size turbine, some thing like a GT30 would make way better top end, but on same time response is lost. It won't be a problem with S15 VCT engines. I'll be testing alternative turbine housing, turbine wheel and possibly dump pipe options for extra flow to resolve the problem and of course E85 would resolve all the issues.
    • Awesome writeup and details. Thanks for sharing the story so far. I can relate to parts of it with my previous car and some of the issues I had to deal with.
    • Wow the colour matched hard top completely transforms the car. Are there any nice front lip options for the car or is that off the table?
