They run these events for all enthusiasts Erin - and you're no exception so...

definitely...

a) get the bodywork and rims/tyres squeaky clean (including behind the fuel filler flap)

b) clay bar the panel work

c) polish the car and get out the swirls

d) apply sealer

e) apply canauba wax

f) get rid of every shred of grime in the engine bay, and coat the plastic bits.

One extra hint:- as the judges come around, ask them if they'd like to check behind the fuel filler flap.

Q. Why?

A. Guys always forget to clean that compartment.

You girls are always good at asking questions. You might as well put it to advantage!

erin - what do you want to do that for? like, really... what do you wanna enter it in a show n shine?

i mean - if you're proud of it and it doesn't cost money to enter you have nothing to lose..

but really - if it's going to cost $200 like autosalon does...

...then why bother? why pay $200 so that some idiot can "scoff" at your entrance?

that $200 could go towards a lot nicer things for your car :)

furthermore... while i'm getting my rant on...

...i have NEVER understood why car owners are made to PAY to enter THEIR CARS into autosalon..

i mean - you go to a music festival - the bands and dj's get paid as they are the focal point of the event, the organisers pay them money because without them... there would BE no music festival?

so why does every car entrant have to pay so much money, when without them - there would BE no autosalon?

HAHAHAHAHA.... Perfect point and i thinks have got something there

I've been saying that for years.... it's because the organisers are in it to make money. But without the cars, there would be no show... Entry should be free or THEY should even pay the competitors to put their cars in!! Why put in all the time and effort, just to have a bunch of people walk around looking at your car and if it's worthy maybe take a few pics... maybe get a trophy? big deal, people see my car every time I drive it on the road
