Hey Guys,

My Timing belt tensioner snapped and now all the valves are bent, the stems dont look that thick, I was thinking just Multigrips and bend them back?

Nah these are off my housemates R33 that I managed to break while I took it for a little squirt to the shops because my WRX was getting painted :(

Just thought I'd share the pics.

not too bad, new valves and you are back in business. Just find a stuffed second hand head with good valves.

Probably cost you about $300 (And the cost of valves) at a head re-conditioner. What are the tops of the pistons like?

Tiny little mark where the vavles hit, didn't even scratch it really, just cleaned it a little, so small it doesn't even come up in the photos.

lol @ bending them back - come on man...

You need to go buy new ones and then ensure they are all fitted correctly it.

If you are not doing the work yourself, its gonna get expensive.

Also as the pistsons have hit the valves, is there any score/marking on them?

guys, I'm pretty sure he's joking..... but 100% it will need new valves (it would be near impossible to bend them back correctly). and probably new valve guides and valve stem seals too. that is of course providing there's no piston damage etc.

bend them back, just be carefull with the exhaust valves as i think they are filled with sodium and that shit hurts if it gets in your eyes.

fill in the holes in the piston crowns with metal putty. As a bonus you can use a bit extra to raise the static compression if you have some left over.

First I lol'd at the thread title and everyone in the office looked at me.

Then I spat my drink out laughing when I got to this part:

Im still recovering....

That's all I have to add.

You could try cutting the valve stems where they are bent, then sticky taping shaped pop sticks to replace whats missing. That should fix your problem, and add 15-20rwkw.
