Changing Spark Plugs

Hey Guys

My cars been running like shit over the last few days so i decided to have a look at the coils and sparkplugs. Whilst removing them i noticed that cylinder 4's spark plug had a rubber ring on the top of it. I checked the inlet of the coils and it didnt seem like there was any rubber rings inside of them. I attached a photo of it where does it go?

Probably just the insert of a spark plug removal socket, nothing to worry about

I tapped up my coils around 3 months ago and wanted to silicone them up.. Yesterday i was driving to an appointment when my car was missfiring very very bad.. Sounded like a subaru.. So i got home took the coils out and siliconed them up.. didnt work so i took out the sparkplugs today to give them a clean, to my surprise there was alot of rust around the middle of it.. so i wire brushed them and lightly sprayed them with WD-40.. Now it sounds worse.. Would anyone have an idea to why it's doing this?

Would it be possible to borrow some standard or aftermarket s2 coils to see if its the coils failing?

Are you already running a gap of 0.8mm on your spark plugs or 1.1mm, and how old are they, what type? (eg. copper)

+1 on it being the coilpacks. Borrow a set to confirm this. Or just buy a set of Yellow Jackets or Splitfires anyway.

With Ruby on this one. Sounds very much like a coil pack issue. Is this happening when your on boost?

yeah i know i need a set.. Nah its actually happening contstantly.. its as if one or two of the coils have died.. im using the ngk iridium BKR6EIX im pretty sure its gapped it .8..

you will know the gaping as its the last 2 digits in the product code

11 1.1mm

08 0.8mm

everyone says that.. unfortunately ive got it infront of me and it doesnt have any digits revealing the gapping..

If it has no digits on the end it is a 0.8 gap.
