It's a tight fit...

Already spewing I didn't get the IS model, but it was free so cat complain :)

70-200 f4 L for those interested. However I will upgrade to a 70-200 f2.8L IS eventually, after I buy my 7D. (might be sooner if I fail to convince myself saving for a house is important, lol)

farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrk. rhys better be taking some might fine shots frmo now on! because it's all the glass you know ;)

They're basically most of the shots i was going to post Kory, I'll have to have a dig and find some of my 'artistic' ones now :P hahaa

finally put the new rims on the car yesterday. took me a whole day to find black 12x1.5 nuts and a lock nut. grrrrrrrrrrr. anyhow.... they're ON. and i'll take a few shots later in the week.

welcome back zenon (even if you hates us :'( ) haha

Congrats Rhys :) I bet your stoked?

Lol sorry. I just picked different angles and chose a photo that i rated 5 stars. Only one i thought you might post was the rx7 flame popping bananza. I is soz :(

Where did you end up getting your nuts from? and lolcats at you waiting until monday.

Hahaha, I also knew you wouldn't be able to wait till today to put the wheels on, Matt. Can't wait to see it.

Product shoot went okay yesterday, and the woman who creates all the jewellery was really easy to work with. She's mega-talented too, just about all the artworks in her house were done by her, and there was A LOT!!! Paintings, carvings, pottery and ceramics absolutely everywhere, but it didn't look cluttered.

The main issue I had was lighting, I really wish I had some modelling/beauty constant lights to work with, but I doubt I'd use then often enough to justify buying them.

lolz0rz blacktown autobarn.

Nick - Yep.. You don't realize how hard it is to light jewellery for product shots until you take a shot. Reflections are killers. Diffusion is what you need or constant lighting.

Hope it all went well and i'm sure the shots turned out good :)

Yeah, I wanted to add more to my previous comment before, but editing your post on the iPhone is a PITA.

Luckily for me, my cousin's wife was modelling all the jewellery, so that made it a bit easier. If I get the colour temps right, it should help a fair bit with editing later (at least I hope so). I was using bounced flashes and an overhead low-voltage halogen, and there was a skylight in the ceiling right near where we were shooting.

Obviously no one told J that one! Haha

Cheers Kory, yeah I love it. It makes me look like a pro =P

Went out for a shoot today with my mate cos what else is there to do on a public holiday?

Nice lens, Rhys - I was telling Matt and Kory that I'd like to order one very soon, but maybe stretch the budget for an f/2.8 version - just like you, I wish it came out with the IS too. Now that the Mk II version is out (with IS), the first ones are dropping in price.

Yeah, it's a great lens, and not a bad price for an L lens I reckon. I should have waited until the MKII came out and snapped up the IS a bit cheaper, but no one wants to wait for a 21st birthday present! Haha.

When my phitography makes me filthy rich (BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!) I'll upgrade, but for now its fine.

Although the above photos were taken on my 17-85.

how much will that lens be? Like 15k or some shit?

I've been busy with heaps of stuff the last few weeks. I've actually got some cool stuff to shoot but not the time. will try to throw up a few suprises later in the week ;)

    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG has not responded to my emails so far since purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
