cazz, I just came across this thread and I am having some trouble with assimilating the problem you seem to have created.

I was the next person at the table that you spoke to, mostly to complain about this forum, but I have no problem with that and didn't take the chance to discuss it further in another venue, out of school being the operative term. What I will take issue with is you putting words into my mouth. I did say there was one 31, meaning at the table (ash). If there was a comment regarding keeping up, it wasn't mine, and as snowman stated, it was I believe ash being tongue in cheek.

Now in the specific context of your attitude toward the SAU forum, I appreciate the guys who were not present being on the back foot and apologetic, however I would challenge you to take a longer look at the content of the forum and the membership and the vehicles that are owned. I will then demand you recuse yourself from the allegation that these people are elitist, and post it publicly in the Vic forum. I will state clearly that I am offended by your attitude (and not on behalf of anyone else) and the patently innappropriate manner in which you have misrepresented the evening. I will not hide behind any form of political correctness that infers that the one complaining is right. You have no right to complain without stating the entire events and conversations and allowing everyone a chance to judge matters themselves. To then go on and take the elitist attitude that everyone should be into your thing and drop everything to talk to you is even more offensive.

By now I would hope you have taken an opportunity to take a look at my profile, and it is a very limited indicator of my professional credentials. I am involved in a very serious business and have to take opportunity to have a lighter side. I will suggest the juvenile attitude here though is not that of the SAU people there to discuss affilliation, with whom I was merely an online acquaintance and fellow skidpanner. Pity's sake, whining about no-one buying your ford, on a skyline forum...I'll rest that one there, but it tends to shut down a conversation pretty quickly, that and other matters I was interested in discussing elsewhare prevented any further conversation we may have had at the time.

I have been a member of NDSOC longer than I have been active on here in SAU, and the people in both are much like everywhere else, just people, good and bad. I have spent time with a number of members at events and I like the club (NDSOC) and what it means to me....racing with like minded people with a common interest, but you won't find me at too many concourse events.

I have a long history in motoring and motorsport, and while I can appreciate your own efforts with your cars, not everyone will appreciate the older marques(I do). I can only hope you reciprocate and appreciate what I have and do with my cars, or are you too upset with the popularity of the imports perhaps taking away some of the limelight? You see it can always go both ways, can't it.

On another point, the technology is in the newer models and by some strange quirk, online forums are considered a bit of a technology thing, but it hasn't excluded the older models at all, only the people who own them and aren't into our thing. I did volunteer for the Shannons stand, and spent a lot of time admiring and talking with owners of the fantastic vehicles on display, and didn't get back for the motorsport events, more is the pity, but my day was well spent.

Only good can come of an affilliation between SAU and NDSOC, and I hope you haven't spoiled any of that by misrepresenting our club, NDSOC, to the volunteers trying to organize a great relationship between SAU and NDSOC. I certainly didn't get any negative feedback from the club pres or her better half at the GP.

I will look forward to making some time for a longer conversation at the next meeting or event, so be looking for me, but I think you were a little hasty in your comments, without knowing something about me or the SAU Vic organizers, and that deserves an apology at least. Once we have had a chance to talk more, then I think you can give me the shellacking I probably deserve.

Geoff

Thanks for your comments skylinegeoff, and if you read my further comments you will notice that I have already been had posts from other members to let me know that I may have taken some tongue in cheek comments the wrong way, and I have acknowledged that. I do not mean to offend anybody, the same as you say your comments to me were not offensive. But my question was, "How come you don't have any R31's in your club", I don't see how that can be construed as "at the table". Anyhow, I too have been a member of the NDSOC for a very long time (with a gap in between due to having kids), and have also made comment to the president and other members about the NDSOC being a zed car club, but it is all taken as constructive, and not offensive. I did take your comments personally and as elitist, and if I took these comments the wrong way, then I do apologise. I have not said anything on this thread that didn't happen, and I don't think I have missed anything that did. I don't want to be alienated from this club because of this thread. Bringing up my post about my ford is really irrelevent though, and was just another discussion, I don't understand why this was bought up by you. If this is only a discussion forum for skyline related matters, then I apologise again.

I have stated my case the way (I thought) it was presented to me. I have apologised for perhaps taking what was said tongue in cheek as an insult, what more can I do. I don't want to get into a bloody arguement about it anymore, I am over it. Perhaps when you next meet me, you will see that I am not a trouble maker, that I just a normal person who likes to socialise with like minded people and have a good time. I don't wish to offend anyone, and get along famously with everyone in the NDSOC and prince skyline club, so your comments here, I feel once again are unjustified. But seeing as this is a forum, and I can't see your face, perhaps I have taken your comments the wrong way again. sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. I can see now why I was advised by other people not to post this thread here.

ok everyone stop apologising, taking things the wrong way, being ambiguous, elitist and just be a bit more mature and go on and enjoy what the rest of these forums has to offer... jeez, point was made and clarified by everyone, so lets just end this discussion here and now.

cazz

I'm not that cut up and look forward to seeing you at the next club meeting. We'll talk there without the gallery.

Funky

chill out....I would appreciate the opportunity to resolve anything outstanding with Carolyn so we have no hard feelings. I hope that doesn't make you feel too uncomfortable, but I will continue this offline. From my perspective, feel free to lock this thread.

Not uncomfortable at all, but just from a 3rd party perspective of sumone who wasn't there... it seems that this "discussion" is jus goin around and around in circles with a lot of finger pointing.

Not uncomfortable at all, but just from a 3rd party perspective of sumone who wasn't there...

And as such, you probably should not have made a few of the comments that you did in your posts.

Making generalisations across all our members that simply are not quite true and has done nothing constructive for our image.

I'll say no more. I am an Events Co-ordinator, not a politician.

Things have been sorted out as far as i can see and im looking forward to the next NDSOC meeting if i can attend it.

I still dont remember making that comment though Andrew&Geoff

but meh, i cant remember where i leave my car keys these days :zap: what can ya do ??? :D
