what size spanner

can someone tell me what size spanner i need to get the filler plug off on the gearbox. i've copied a pic of the plug from the DIY section.

i don't seem to have one which fits, so i want to buy the right size.

Are you trying to use imperial spanners or something? Most of the Japanese stuff is going to be metric. I find on the skyline that 8, 10 and 12mm spanners are most useful.

btw, this is a pic of what mine looks like, its had another bolt welded onto it, thats why i can't use the normal wrench thing to get it off coz theres no room.

i think its 14, but can't quite get it on, could be due to the other bolt welded onto the plug. just need someone to confirm the size.

Hmmm, it really depends on what they have put in and welded in there... The original sump plug takes a 1/2 inch size. Soooo, if it's the same size as the original it'll be 13mm.

It could be anything...haven't you got any ring spanners?? right size will go on no prob but could be metric or imperial therefor only trial and error will work. looks like a real backyard job....would have used the first nut he got hold of
