QLD] JDMST Meet March 2011 | Brisbane

Hey guys, next meet details:

Tuesday, 15 March 2011, 7:30pm.

Carseldine Central Shopping Centre, corner of Beams Rd and Gympie Rd, Carseldine.

Park at the top carpark first, and if we have too many cars, there is an underground carpark also. Just need to be wary that the bottom one is locked at 10pm.

Ivan from Nando's has been kind enough to offer some sponsorship and a few snacks for us, so please support. All JDMST members receive a 10% discount on the night by quoting "JDMST" on ordering. Ivan is also hiring a photographer, who will be emailing out high-res photos taken on the night for Nando's customers (just give them your docket with car/plate/email info on it).

Not only that, Ivan has contacted Pizza Capers who also offered 10% off, and Zaraffas have offered to give a free coffee upgrade. Just tell them you're from JDMST.

As you can see, things are picking up for us and even the landlord is supporting, so more than ever,
it is important that you follow the CONDITIONS OF ATTENDANCE
  • YOU are responsible for the guys you bring to the meet, and hang with. If they act like idiots, we will find out who it was. Brisbane is a very small place.
  • THROW RUBBISH IN THE BIN. Me and a few of the boys had to clean up after everyone last time. Uncool. There's bins - use them.
  • Dont do skids, laps, rev engine, be antisocial in any way. Cops will come around to administer surprise buttsex.
  • Plates will be recorded and forwarded to the cops and possibly the defect squad, depending on how much of a dickhead you are. Dropping skids in the carpark will definitely qualify.

Don't want to be a hardass, but if this is the only way we can continue to have open meets rather than invite-only, it's what we'll have to do. The next step is that we actively invite police to attend, and Im sure we'd rather not do that.

See you there!

Sounds like alot of cool cars will be attending....

Hope to see some of you guys there.

Ill be there in the V

big turnout very few V35s there. lots of others and a few idiots as well. (personal observation) makes me wonder how long that this meet will last at the current site. I could hear most of them coming from my back door and the same lot leaving on full song as they went up the hill on beams rd.

seriously I like my cars but there is a time and a place to be an idiot - that was not the time or place. the police where not notified according to one restaurant owner and they were doing the rounds in 3 unmarked cars when I left.

think I will stick to club meets :)

This was my first time attending & was very impressed with the selection of cars that turned out, especillay on " school night". Spotted a number of other V's but with so many people wandering around I didnt know who was who...will have to make more of an effort next time! We arrived nearer 8pm by which time there was no parking space up or down so we had to park in the car park next to the adjacent tennis courts just west of the complex. Next time I will bring my HR31 coupe & be there well before 7:30pm so as to hopefully get a spot. Maybe next time this could be posted in the QLD Events section as this will no doubt pull even more liners to the event.

I'll Have to ask Matyas, if i can do a full post on here...

it was kinda exclusive to us. as well i know us V'ers don't really act up too much.

"No skids to leave ect"

But im sure it will be fine.

i was in OMY35 as per usual.

Hope to see you next time!

but overall, awesome meet!

Hey Cobey,

Great looking car. May i ask what size wheels/offet you are running?

I plan on getting some new wheels soon and have been reading alot on offsets and all sort of stuff.

I came in a bone stock silver v35 lol.

Cheers,

    • Um. No. Since Matt introduced the TIM it has become a lot easier to deal with the consequences of changing K for AFM and injector swaps. Then, tuning is a f**king doddle. No-one needs to know or care how many grams of air are flowing or any other bullshit. Need more fuel in a cell? Add more fuel. Need more timing in a cell. Add more timing. Need to adjust any of the other tables for warm up and so on? No harder than anything else. Sure - it's not an ECU system for starting from scratch on an arbitrary engine. But then.....it was never supposed to be, not recommended for, and almost never used that way. So.... On your engine, in particular, Nistune/Nissan OEM is about as sophisticated and difficult as banging 2 rocks together. Those ECUs are primitive and simple. There is nothing difficult there. I learnt Nistune from scratch, created new maps with extended axes, interpolated/extrapolated the original maps onto them and tuned my RB20 (basically the same ECU as your 26 ECU) all by myself, more than 20 years ago. And that was long before even TIM.
    • Set of knee pads for a R34. Will fit every model I think. Comes with everything except the rubber covers for the bolt holes. Still in great condition. You will need to drill holes to mount these or use double sided tape. I can do free shipping and will be shipping from the Netherlands with tracking.
    • Nistune needs something like an entire excel spreadsheet in which you build an abstraction layer that converts everything from real units you can actually measure into all of the various tables. The number of unexpected dependencies hiding in how the Nissan ECUs do math is a pretty impressive optimization trick for 8-bit MCUs but good god is it awful to actually work with in practice.
