got this spare with a car i bought, someone told me its a vlt rear housing (.63) and has the same stud pattern, but i dont know what the specs are, aside from the fact that it has been high flowed.

also, does anyone know if the highflowed components (wheels, housing etc) would be interchangeable with an r33 s2 rear housing? as ive already had a custom dump pip made to suit it.SAM_0041.jpgSAM_0039.jpg

do not use this turbo on a skyline. they are shithouse old design. i had one and it was rat shit.

You might be able to get the standard housing machined out to suit depends how big the rear wheel in that turbo is.

Sell it and get a better turbo, its just not worth using the old VL design the stock turbo will be better.

That "thing" , and I'm being nice , is the dreaded bastard hi flow bitzer turbo . The housings look a bit like RB20 on the compressor side and T3 on the hot side . The hub of the turbine looks a bit like a Hitach HT18S one .

Probably bore everyone but .

1)Comp housing inlet bored out a lot so a big wheel for a smallish compressor housing .

2)Hitachi turbine big which is fine for a Ser 4/5 RX7 Rotary but iffy on a bastard hi flow .

3)Note the size of the waste gate outlet hole on the T3 turbine housing . Maybe Ok for a dinosaur 70s era 150 Kw T3 but not for any current (in the last 20 yrs) performance engine .

I would rather run your engines std turbo if in good nick than that thing .

A .

well actually its an rb30e+t in an r31 that it would be going onto, but now im thinking ill just keep the 33 s2 turbo on, even tho it may be a bit small for the 30, anyone offer a suggestion of what that highflowed one would be worthe to sell 2nd hand?

It would probably prefer the Hitachi BB VG30 turbos larger OP6 turbine housing if you can find one .

From memory an RB30ET made 153 Kw from its 50 something comp trim small turbine series T3 turbo in 0.63A/R turbine housing form . An RB 25 with the above mentioned turbine housing made I think 206 fly Kw in an R34 GTt .

it appears to be:

.63 VL turbo's turbine housing with a R32's comp housing, bush bearing setup

Standard VL turbo turbine wheel or TB34 turbine wheel with a 8~12 degrees crop running a 56T 71mm comp wheel. It should be ok for about 250~260rwkws on Rb25det with average response using a strong actuator.

Need a none restrictive oil line for Rb2x engines. You will need his dump pipe as the internal gate part is in it.

anyone have any advice on if this turbo would be any good for an rb30et, drove to the dyno the other day (very sedatly), got out and the turbo was leaking oil and smoking. f**k. so im thinking about putting a rebuild kit thru the hi flowed one and putting it on instead before i head back to the dyno, what kind of rebuild kit would i even have to get? or would it just be a mix and match on seals and wheels?
