Put some decent plugs in and get some yellow jackets.

If you're getting misfire, a popping sound, on high boost then that's almost certainly the problem. Gutsy trying the holden coils, but yellow jackets are only round $400, have 2 years warranty, and have been proven to be pretty effective

Had to get the car towed. It will idle, but not be put under load or it will want to backfire and stall... I cant see me doing anything other than rolling in idle in it.

Will try putting standard coilpacks in during the week again, but I'm sure it's something else.... is a vacuum leak going to be so severe to make it not even idle or be able to do 10km/h? I searched the piping for leaks, maybe I should pressure test it somehow.

running a wasted spark set-up would be fine if you had a after market ecu to control the dwell time on the coils/ igniter. too much dwell and the igniter will get red hot and prematurely fail, too little dwell and the misfires and running like crap are your friend, a wise person once told me ;)

This man speaks truth.

Sounds like your result is even worse than i had when i went with bosch coils before split fires were cheap and china gear arrived.

I could at least drive around at less than 7psi and have very smooth idle and light load running. Went to shit at anything near 1/2 throttle.

Your plugs are fouled because it doesn't have a big enough spark to properly burn the fuel in the cylinders.

The weird thing is that it is throwing a fat spark.... and the car won't even idle with the standard setup back on it now. I know I'm going to spend like $500 on coilpacks and loom and end up in the same spot. However I guess I have a spare AFM and igniter now if anything goes wrong in the future.
